we not ever gonna win if Reaves and Luka gonna continue to be traffic cones, cant have our best 2 players just be awful on that end
this too
Rob Pelinka says a vertical lob threat and someone who can protect the rim are the ideal traits they are looking for in a center, but they will not limit themselves to that archetype.
all i know is i want steven adams coming off the bench
Perimeter defense wasn't even a huge problem. Straight line drives were but they didn't exploit that line they should've. Our front line was just too weak. We got killed by JR, Rudy, and McDaniels

Bro the initial traffic cone defense was the reason there was so much dribble penetration which created open looks from 3 or wide open offensive rebounds
Letting Ant or Julius penetrate was a massive problem lol. And when we doubled Ant in game 5 Rudy was by himself at the basket several times
U gotta have some resistance from the perimeter or if u trust your back line enough you can funnel. We didn’t have either of those things lmao

I mean traffic cones on the perimeter isn't much of a concern in the playoffs, interior defense is always more of a factor. Because AR could've played the way he did in the series and if had a presence on the backline, like a Tyson Chandler type, that would be effective but if we had strictly perimeter defenders we would be looking at the same outcome
Look at the Thompson twins on the verge of both being eliminated. Perimeter defense in the playoffs is overrated because of the physicality. Rebounding and interior d is more integral

Honestly Reaves defense was fine but to expect him to contain Ant is hilarious. Even the best defenders are not going to stop him (or any of the top perimeter guards) but there needs to be some resistance
Luka was just getting blown by constantly which creates wide open looks at the rim or on the kick out

I was talking about AR's offensive production. If he would've been anywhere closer to normal than this would've been a different series. Bron ended up exerting too much energy early, and JJ's rotations were abysmal. Funny how the roster construction issue is the same as every other year outside of the bubble
I personally subscribe to having the worst defenders guard the best offensive players, while having your best defender be a roamer. Unfortunately AD is perfect at that when he's at the 4 lol

Oh yeah i agree with that
Even tho we had defensive and rebounding deficiencies this team could have won this series if they just had average offensive production in the 4th quarters. It was like the Denver series all over again where they just could not score down the stretch
Thats what ultimately decided the series
Instead of working on his game Vandy is going to be at every single fashion event from now until October, Luka is taking a 3-month vacation and Bron is preparing his body to fall flat come next March. Should be an interesting off-season

“The second apron made it very difficult…”
interesting
Big men are so back
And AR played like dog s***, D Lo tier performance. He needs to get stronger in the offseason
interesting
