Rob Pelinka calls the Lakers' 16-2 run from late February through the end of March a "strong data point and proof of concept" that will inform the way the franchise puts together the roster for next season.

Rob Pelinka says player development is a "very important" area for the Lakers to invest in given the salary cap restrictions in the CBA.

JJ Redick: "We need to build depth beyond just an 8- or 9-man rotation. Maybe 5 games out of the 92 games we played, it was something that I'd planned over the offseason. It really is about building that depth."

JJ Redick on areas the Lakers need to improve in:

"We clearly need to have a better overall season defensively."

Redick: " I think we had flashes of that. I think our improvement defensively is a big credit to our staff."

He gave specific credit to assistants Greg St. Jean and Bob Beyer for their work with/presentation of film.

Rob Pelinka:

"We have enough tools in our tool chest to be able to build out a team and we're confident we'll be able to do that."

JJ Redick called Rui Hachimura's shooting transformative, in that it allows him to be an efficient scorer and to elevate his teammates due to the attention he demands.

Rob Pelinka says he is "incredibly proud" of what Rui Hachimura accomplished in the playoffs.

Rob Pelinka says it has been "amazing" to have Tony Bennett on board helping with their draft prep.

Rob Pelinka says the Lakers will hire two assistant GMs – one on the player/draft development side and one on the strategy side (cap, a***ytics, data, etc.).

I think he can be great for the next 10 years… we would be contender for the next 10 years with Giannis and Luka.

Ayton - had moments but he’s too hot and cold to be trusted as a starter. Hes a backup on a contender

Vanderbilt- getting paid 11 m and he’s not even a rotation player

Lavria Knecht - both are wings who have flaws in their game.

Bronny - he’s a gleague player. 2 way at best. Scholarship player

Nick smith - under sized 2 guard who need the ball and best skill is iso ball. You have to be really elite to be useful in that role. I guess he’s only 22 and could be developed… that roster spot could used on another PG or 2way SG and center ?

That’s 6 out of the 15 guys, basically useless lol. We only have 9 playable guys and Hayes is a short minute bench player and theiro is potential more someone you can count on…

Draft season approaching yall

Alot of the guys that I like went back to college or increased their stock.

But here's some guys to keep an eye on

Joshua Jefferson
Henri Veesaar
Amari Allen
Zuby Ejiofor

Out of all the guys I just named, I would choose Joshua Jefferson.

He's a 6'8 forward who has high IQ and good feel. He's a really good passer and basically a point forward. Also a great defender that has good hands and knows where to be and very switchable on D. Can score inside. His main weakness is his shooting (34% from 3).

Most mock drafts have Lakers choosing Henri Veesar. He's a 7 foot center that shot 41% from 3 but he's not switchable on D and not the greatest defender. He has good basketball IQ but he's not much of a lob threat. He's also skinny af.

Veesar fits with Luka because he can stretch the floor but I don't trust his 3 point shooting (He shot 61% from the free throw line; red flag) and he will probably be a drop coverage big since he can't switch. I honestly wouldn't draft him.

I wouldn't be mad if Rob traded the pick too.
