I dont think either rapper is a good battle rapper but I'm more inclined to go with Lupe on this just cause hes a weirdo

That’s pretty solid idk
Fr man I bumped those Lupe tapes sooooo much
His National Anthem is better than the Kid A version for me
And how he killed Maybe by NERD man
All great, also his loosies in 2012-2015 and ones meant for his debut back in 2001-2004 are all extremely good. He gots lots of hidden gems

Dumb It Down one of the best written songs ever to me
Alright is a better more iconic song than any of those tbh with a message too
i feel like a hater at this point
because i feel what you're saying
and i see how that song moves some people
but it never was more than a dope song to me

i don't know that kendrick has done that on a single

I mean that’s honestly not one of my favorite songs but I’m just talking about the impact and message that it had is larger than any of the songs u named.
Don’t get me wrong I f*** w Lupe the long way probably more than most people here, I just hate to see people downplay Kendrick. I feel like most people who do it are gonna feel foolish when hes not around anymore

I must say part of the reason I think Lupe is a better rapper than Kendrick is because he's a huge Jay stan. Lupe provides commentary like Nas on IWW but from the perspective of Jay the hustler. Kendrick wants to be like pac and the soulquarians and they were never as talented at rapping as people like Jay. That Jay line about skills selling is really about him wanting to be Lupe, not Common

But Dumb It Down was hardly a single
That’d be like if Kendrick released How Much A Dollar Cost as a single and it didnt impact at all really but I still was saying he had more impactful singles
