man i just hope yall got another sidehustle
i was producing since 2013, met dudes like danny wolf, had some opportunities with artists like tory lanez, was invited to move to atlanta
maybe cus my parents are professionals but they basically told me that s*** wouldnt work out, so i stayed in school
now im finna have a phd and i still get to make the music i love. f*** risking it all for a dream in music, imma just do what i love without expecting to make money
i jus say this cus a lot of black kids are being oriented towards believing they gotta make it big in some longshot dream when they rly should be working like normal ppl and building in a realistic way. s*** ik some rappers better than most of the famous guys who just live normal lives
Do you think you could’ve “made it”? Any regrets?

basically the way to go in any genre
having a livable income as a full time musician should not be an abnormal expectation when the music industry generates billions of dollars yearly and it also doesn’t mean one isn’t “living a normal life”
how about we don’t blame the artist and blame the systems that are broken, not the participants who also love the music just as much as you and had the art form pimped
i agree with this, but until this is a feasible reality we gotta get reg bread and make music for the love
