I got some nitpicks but overall enjoyed more than other holland movies . Do I think it’s the best spider man movie ? I don’t know about that . I do think it learns from comics , cartoon and raimi movies . Made New York a major focus in a way many of us wanted since movie 1

Underrated mothafucka

Thought the early first act and last act were good but everything else was ehh. Some pretty funny moments with the punisher, enjoyed him this movie

Just to give a light non spoiler reaction

Spider Man Brand New Day continues where we left off in many ways. You immediately feel the difference of a new director and set of eyes. There are parts of the movie that will remind you of games, cartoons, comics of Spider Man. Its a love letter in many forms. is it overstuffed ? Depends to each their own. After a 5 year way there are many ways it has to split the pie which at times leads to some pacing issues by the slightest degree . It tackles grief , loneliness , overworking, feelings of feeling forgotten or drifting away from friends family and society. Do I at times wish it leaned a bit more into the themes to bring it in all the way ? Yes. Some characters are kind of underutilized or are after thoughts when they deserve a bit more to chew. While the MCU characters for the most part feel natural and not ham fisted besides possibly Hulk which as I mentioned before this movie some of these characters deserve their own solo movies or have spider man cameo in their tv shows or movies rather than his movie be the place to do so much busy work.

Out of all the MCU spider man movies this one will likely be my favorite. Maybe I am numb but most of the emotional scenes in this dont fully land for me but the one that does its really well done.

There are parts of this you will like for sure. The shared universe parts aren't terrible but they do possibly hold the movie back from being my favorite spider man movie ever personally
