Currently loving this. Every metal gear game i play takes me a couple hours to go from hating it to loving it
Like I said in another post you in for a treat.
List goes on and on. All with state of the art graphics. It's a MG fans dream man.
I would love to play a remake of any of the games in the series. Especially MGS 4
MGSV is 10 years old today

my dad randomly put 200 hrs into this when it came out and he mostly just played fps
Almost finished with this. Its really a 10/10
Mgs5 definitely has the peak gameplay but this is the whole package and its been worth it

Youre absolutely right. And agreed, if they remake mgs4 ill get it for sure
Idk if they'll ever touch mgs1 but I could see it.
Y'all think I would like this game if I liked Death Stranding 1 & 2? Death Stranding is my only Kojima experience.

Before this game i played death stranding 2 and mgs 5.
If you love the quirky s*** in death stranding then I think you'll love this. Its pretty f***ing fire. There's a bit more stealth in this but it was awesome

mgs v is game of life and if konami bought into kojima’s vision instead of trying to buy into mobile games, we would have a future where MGS V was the golden standard
death stranding feels almost like a punishment to the industry, like “open your eyes sheeple! you need meaningful interactive experiences not mind numbing video games” it leans so much so into this direction that i think no matter how much effort was put into the sequel, not many are going to buy into the coreplay gameplay loop of delivering packages
and it’s sad bc kojima is truly a one of a kind auteur! he deserves to be met with mass audiences. now i feel like he’s more interested in making a statement than an actual game. which is a shame because as important as the DS message is, it’s redundant how it’s portrayed in its gameplay.
saying all that to say, the reissue of mgs 3 is awesome but reminds me of how far the medium has fallen when this is above and beyond the most interesting game to me in the last few years. everything has been so stale or derivative of games less than 15 years old. it’s been the same gameplay loops for over a decade now and i’m losing hope in the industry’s ability to create meaningful mass market entertainment
when kojima had konami, there was a synergy between his creative and their corporate interests.
now this synergy doesn’t exist and it’s as if all the people investing into kojima have disposable income to throw at a project.
as much as i find kojima a truly brilliant writer for the better half of his career, he is lacking in his self published output. while his scope was widened, i find it harder for him to wrangle said scope and piece together a cohesive and well paced story.
there SHOULD be some effort on the player to interact with the world, but the effort he’s demanding for players to buy into his convoluted narratives is too high for the payoff to be worth it.
i hope at some point, kojima says enough and delivers a commercial product that’s entertaining as it is an in depth cultural a***ysis. until then i guess we will find ourselves replaying the greats and convincing ourselves his latest post apocalyptic delivery simulators are the new standard of high value entertainment. but i’d rather not spend my $70 to be lectured on community and demanded more effort from my day job

Nice. It’s on my wishlist. Might cop at some point.
This will be my first MGS. I watched my brother play the original MGS3 a little bit when I was a kid

Personally I think Kojima at Konami was a perfect partnership while it lasted. Kojima is a story and ideas guy. He is amazing when it comes to unique concepts but he is not really a gameplay guy. Konami is a company with a long history in video games and they unterstand how good gameplay looks like.
MGS5 was as amazing as it is because Kojima had access to the expertise of Konami's game design. Now that this partnership is gone, he still makes great games but MGS was a different beast
Just finished damn this s*** was peak
First time playing MGS 3
Play mgs 1 now
