People really complaining about this new screen displaying 720p
Mfs want a 1080p screen that will drain the battery in 20 minutes
For what too, 720p is good on handheld, as long as the games stay at 720p
True, just wanted at least a substantial upgrade from the original but

If the dock can output at 4k we can imagine there's dlss involved and if it is it could be a substantial update, not on the portable side but on the docked side. Upscaling from 720p to 4k is a big deal, we dont know if that's the only thing it will do tho, i personally would prefer having stable fps
I wonder if it’ll be switch pro only games like how the 3DS had the “new 3DS only” titles. Hope not.
Since this is Nintendo there’s no way they would upscale previous Switch games right?
720p @ 60fps on a 7" screen??
that should look great tbh
my laptop is 13.3" and 1080p but when i watch things in 720 the difference only matters when im looking super up close at it and that's still almost double the Switch screen
Docked:
Performance: 2160p @ 30fps standard
Quality: 1080p @ 60fps standard
Handheld:
720p @ 60fps standard
only for supported software, otherwise same as the OG model which is what many games will be, there wont be optimization of BOTW or Pokemon lol

Some games already run 60fps on handheld mode tho, like Smash and Mario Kart. You don't think BOTW could get that bump on a Switch Pro?

Source? Nothing about how things will look and run has been confirmed yet... So I need to see proof about the whole 4K @ 30 FPS etc. thing fam
Games would probably cap at 1440p, if we're going by project triangle strategy source code. If we also get stable 60fps that's great and sufficient to me
Keeping my expectations low so i dont get disappointed when its just an increase in resolution

And it would be like twice as expensive along with a super low battery life lmao

Of course not
4k 60 all i need i hate handheld mode

If I have to buy a new switch to play botw 2, there will be some strongly worded letters drafted
If the new switch is anywhere close in price to the current one, it’s worth the upgrade.
I just convinced my boy to cop a switch like 2 weeks ago. He mentioned waiting for a new or pro version And I told him that prob wouldn’t happen for a while. He gonna be tight
Switch is in a good spot for me PERSONALLY. Im getting everything that caters to me. Mario 3D world was a blast and left me with an itch Crash 4 will scratch, cool visual novels coming soon, Story of Seasons and Monster Hunter this month im super hype for. A lot of JRPGS dropping soon. Summer gonna bang for me with Rune Factory 5 and Disgaea. Hopefully Nocturne soon, SMTV this year, praying for Digimon Survive. I actually really dont care about 1st party lol.
Totally feel you
Maybe not necessarily with all the games you pointed out, but there’s at least 1 game a month for me that I’m super interested in on the Switch this year
This new Switch model probably gonna be underwhelming for most people, including me
I don’t think this will be the pro refresh we’re looking for tbh
I’d keep expectations low IMO
