AntidoteDisney fired Michael Arndt when he asked for more time to write because they wanted to meet the 2015 deadline (return of investment for the shareholders after buying the whole thing), then Lucasfilms hired JJ to direct (rejected it the 1st time) and write it with Kasdan.
Then they moved the release date to December because JJ requested more time to take the job (he wanted one full year, May 2016).
Rey was called Kira at one point lol
Wasn’t george even giving them advice on the side but they just threw that all out the window to “reinvent the wheel” of the OT instead

s*** like that seems charming if placed in the OT but in 4k in 2022 with modern directing
its just confusingly stupid

still looking forward to Acolyte though cause at least thats a blank slate and there's more room to play around with creatively

aglowFair enough. But a lot of people (even some itt) interpreted the scene way differently than you did.
Couple that with the fact that the writer of the show wrote that scene with the intent to present Vader as a vengeful and sadistic character, and it becomes apparent that the whole thing isn't as clear as you so boldly claim it is.
People who wanted to nitpick the show intrepreted it wrong. Everyone I know irl and plenty in this forum saw it as it was intended. Vader stood there and watched obi wan get away after trying to torture him, it was clear he was conflicted and dissapointed
You keep going back to the writer, but that means nothing
Good example is avengers endgame
