it was a bigger leap in the sense that the technology from duck hunt to wii was a massive improvment.

but finally having a console that doubled as a home console and portable device, had an actual practical leap forward in technology.

the motion sensing techonology stayed back in the wii era, or was co-opted into VR (which, in my opinion, the technology isnt there for yet, someday maybe. but theres a lot of issues with it)

people will be using and playing switch-esque devices for the next 20 years easily

I've been saying this for awhile, we've hit a point where game developers have so much power to work with, to the point they can't manage it. One of the reasons(beyond A.I. and tariffs)that ram /gpu prices are going up tbh, we've hit a technological dead end. GTA 6 is going to make a a lot of developers seem incompetent, but in reality, if shareholders and profits didn't matter in the gaming industry, we'd probably see way more amazing s*** more often in gaming.
