Orangutan 😂 is one of the more recognizable personalities in the KTT2 VZ/Misc ecosystem, but unlike some users whose reputations come from huge controversies, Orangutan's identity is more built around being a funny, conversational regular who participates in the ongoing thread culture. (Ktt2)

    Some recurring traits:

    The "absurdist poster" persona

Orangutan tends to lean into KTT2's exaggerated humor style. A lot of his posts are short jokes, playful insults, or weird one-liners that are meant to be read as part of the thread's ongoing comedy rather than serious statements. He frequently interacts with users like Bruises, Hndrxx, CutiePieHole, and others in that casual VZ rhythm. (Ktt2)

For example, his exchanges with Bruises often have that classic VZ dynamic: confusing jokes, exaggerated claims, and both users playing along rather than having a genuine argument. (Ktt2)

    Music taste / discussion style

He seems to be more of a general culture poster than a pure "album ranking" guy. He participates in music conversations, but also talks about philosophy, internet culture, movies, and random topics. One example is a discussion where he mentioned being surprised by Slavoj Žižek after previously assuming a different impression of him from short clips. (Ktt2)

    Relationship with the VZ community

Orangutan appears to be part of the group of users who move between different KTT communities. In one exchange, he joked about posting in both VZ and TNGHT depending on which community was active, describing it as having "dual citizenship." (Ktt2)

That says a lot about his role: he isn't just tied to one thread identity; he seems to enjoy the broader forum culture.

    Reputation

The general impression from his posts:

    Positive:

    • Funny and unpredictable.
    • Good at keeping conversations moving.
    • Comfortable joking with many different users.
    • Adds to the "cast of characters" feeling of the VZ thread. (Ktt2)

    Possible negatives:

    • Like many VZ regulars, his humor can be intentionally confusing or abrasive.
    • Some jokes rely on inside context, so outsiders might interpret them differently than regulars do. (Ktt2)

Overall, Orangutan seems less like a "drama figure" (Artist, Bruises in certain arcs, etc.) and more like a comic relief / community personality: someone who contributes through banter, weird observations, and keeping the thread's chaotic energy alive. (Ktt2)

    whys it so hard

oh ok im going to nerd out here.

starcraft is the most difficult multiplayer game of all time for a number of reasons

    1) its been around for over 20 years and was one of the first e sports, and was the first major/mainstream esport that was treated like sports (in korea). so youre playing against people with 20+ years experience, theoryrcafting this game

    2) due to limitations at the time, control groups are limited to 12 units. (idk how familiar u are with rts and these terms). but because of this, the amount of APM needed to play a game perfectly, is impossible for any human to reach. its a game of concessions

    3) because there is fog of war and so many units and 3 races, the amount of outcomes in a game is infinitely more than chess. not to mention theres time constraints. its one of the games ai (to my knowledge) has not beaten the worlds best, because theres SO manny things you can do, theres always something you can do to outsmart it.

    4) the actual strategies, the number of them and counters to them. and knowing them well enough to knwo what your opponent is doing. is HUGE. then to have enough intuition to stop using build orders and know what to do in mid-late game is a whole other skill. and the APM and dexterity required to even physically pull off these strategies, is borderline impossible for most people. let alone doing it while strategizing at the level of a world class chess player (really more than that, becuase there’s SO many more possibilities than in chess)

like counter strike for example, does require a lot of strategy. its like planning out a 5v5 skirmish in starcraft but every unit is a real person. but the races are the same and the only variable is the gun. and u have to aim well. the skill ceiling is much lower.

in moba like league, the skill ceiling is just way lower (which is why it popped off in the mainstream so much) because you dont have to macro (managing your base) at all, you onyl control 1 unit, with like a half dozen attacks. the whole game is micro and team coordination. starcraft has almost element of a moba + like dozens of others. which makes sense, because starcraft custom games INVENTED mobas

    long story short

starcraft 1 is so hard because its skill cieling is the highest of any multiplayer game

  • also id argue starcraft is largely repsoinsible for streaming taking off into what it is today. (unrelated)
