Will people finally stop pretending like MKW is bad
i love it and always have. always knew patches would be coming to improve it, just like MK8.
the one valid criticism of this game IMO is that because there are nearly infinite shortcuts that aren't very obvious (meaning they are trick based and not easy to find or master on your own without online help), the game favors people who are online and it favors people who enjoy learning tricky shortcuts. you can only get so good at this game by just PLAYING it and mastering the drifts and mastering the mushroom shortcuts. the learning curve is damn near infinite.
now i dont mind this because i have found shortcut learning to be pretty fun. i like the trick mechanics and watching an online video to learn a trick cut has been enjoyable. i have played this game a ton and i could keep learning tricks for another 50 hours before i'd feel like i'm a master at this game. the sky's the limit and new shortcuts are still being discovered.
but if youre someone who doesnt like that, and just wants to get online or in a GP and race and race and race and get better the old fashioned way, i can see why youre like s*** i have to learn all these crazy shortcuts people are doing if i want to compete.
ultimately i dont know that this game will outrank MK8 on my all time MK list (MK8 being my #1). and that's OKAY. games need to evolve and what they did with this version is really cool even though it prioritizes something a little different
Id say it makes sense to buy it on ps5 in your case, and besides Resident Evil games go on sale all the time so you could always buy it on switch 2 later on when it gets a good deal if you also want a portable experience
Good idea... As long as he does it before Holiday 2027
think i’m gonna sell my steam deck and get a switch 2
been wanting to play some pokemon so i’ll probably pick up that new game
i also really want to play donkey kong

Will people finally stop pretending like MKW is bad
It is NOT worth $85 USD

nah i sold my switch 1 pre ordered switch 2 but then cancelled before they got shipped
I've not put this down since getting Hades 2 lol
The screen size etc all make for a great handheld experience & possibly the best on the market (or close)
No roaring fans, good size panel
It is NOT worth $85 USD
Who paid $85 for it?
This is why most people got it for $50 lol

Dumbass at GameStop the other day told me it's not out yet for switch so I pre ordered it just to come home and find out it's only the physical version that isn't out yet
I only went in for the raidon codes too

"Up to $27 trade in value"
Working at Target at the moment (through Summer/Holidays), just got a red card which secures me a 15% discount, plus after buying groceries with it I unlocked a $50 gift card.
All told with both I can knock about $120 off the price tag, from $449 down to $320. Could also trade in my current Switch for cash and throw that on top as well.
Legit only reason why I’m holding out is lack of exclusives; outside of DK everything else new will be playable on my OG Switch, so I’ll mostly be paying for framerate/resolution bumps, but on the other hands who knows if prices might not rise in the coming months.
I’m a little torn tbh.

Do you have a Switch 1 backlog of games that would benefit from NS2’s boosted horsepower? If so, go for lt

Not really, I played pretty much every noteworthy Switch game at this point. Though I do plan on some replays in the future (like TOTK), doing so with improved frame rates could be pretty dope.

Hmm are you interested in any of the new games they announced at the latest Direct? (Mario Tennis, Yoshi, Pokopia, Fire Emblem)
Personally I’m only excited for FE from that batch of new announcements so that Direct didn’t do much to generate hype for Switch 2’s future. Here’s to hoping the next Direct in early 2026 brings out the big guns.
