it’ll be $60 digital thanks to their new policy
oot already ported it’s on n64 emulator
Matt Mercer as ganondorf
digital sucks and buying a full price remake of an easily accessible 30 year old game is insane d***riding
wonder if they’ll bump up the rating, will this really be E for everyone? some of the s*** in OOT gonna look cursed in 4k lmao

Some parts of OoT were straight outta Resident Evil

The internet has ruined joy
Playing a game I want to play is now “dickriding”
I’m so sorry that the internet has melted your brain

need those dark vibes of oot and majoras mask in the next Zelda tbh, love when hyrule gets spooky
reasonable take but they’ll gaslight you into thinking “new” is better lol
I just hate this obvious pandering by big video game companies to nostalgia-bait people into buying full-priced products that are recreations of games that were actual risks/genre-bending/innovative/etc.
I don't know if or when the fatigue's going to settle in for most people but
mmm yes nintendo please feed me $70-80 slop remakes instead of just porting the game mmmm
yooo what if they made a mario 64 remake but over the shoulder instead
Also this is a ridiculous argument to make in this context, we just got 2 new Zelda’s back to back in 2023 and 2024. It’s not like we’re getting overwhelmed by Zelda remakes and we’re starving for new Zelda’s.
Hey man if you wanna enjoy OoT Remake or any other remake, I'm not stopping you. I've enjoyed remakes, I was hyped when the Spyro trilogy and Pac-Man World remakes got announced, even though I don't care for them now for reasons that pretty much reflect almost every single remake.
It's just very sad that Nintendo's last true new IP was what, ARMS? Splatoon? 8 years ago. And I'm not targeting Nintendo, this is a trend that's affecting big game companies in general. They're becoming scared to invent and take risks and now are holed up in a handful of their customers' favorite franchises.

Most new ips are the same games we've already played with a fresh coat of paint. Id rather get a new ip when there's actually a new idea to push than forcing a new ip just to have more characters.
And its funny you say that Nintendo doesnt take risks when they made huge changes to all their biggest franchises, often leaving long time fans behind. Zelda, Mario kart, donkey kong all made severe changes to their gameplay that alienated some fans. You don't need a new mascot to take a risk, id argue thats the most boring way.
Hell, nintendo had sakurai working on kirby air riders of all things for their new console's launch year how is that not risky
its really conflicting cos i think both 2 and 4 remake are pretty amazing all things considered and that they both do things entirely different from the original to somewhat warrant their existence but they really didnt need to exist in all honesty especially 4 remake
i really dislike this constant need gamers have of bringing back old s*** just so it can have a new shiny paint of coating. im glad you brought up tank controls cause anyone that plays any game with it for more than 5 mins would get used to it already lmao. its like they think stuff like that was some technical limitation for the time and not a very deliberate design by the devs (in most cases)
A lot of gamers have an aversion to friction, they want games to be perfectly palatable, without any edges. The experience has to be as steamlined as possible, possibly with an endless catalog of options to tailor the experience to one's liking, devaluing the experience to a dopamine rush akin to watching a youtube video or a tiktok.
No challenge, no critical thinking, no emotions.
This is why im against having too many options in games for example, unless its 100% a developer choice (difficult to know im aware). Games having at least 3 difficulty options never sat right with me, because switching on the go is convenient and removes a lot of the intended design hurdles developers place, plus it decentives engaging with the mechanics, and provides an experience that differs from player to player too much, decreasing community engagement. For all the toxicity, its cool when the souls community gathers to figure out how to beat that one difficult boss.
I dont care about oot remake but if these projects exist its because developing games takes a long time and there needs to be something to fill out the schedule otherwise gamers will say there are no games while ironically disregarding 90% of games released before 2015 because they're too old and ugly and clunky.
I deadass havent felt a drought of releases in more than 5 years cause i always got s*** to play, just by virtue of playing all of the games i never got to play before, most of which are thankfully becoming more and more available on all the storefronts, and are also quite cheap compared to new releases.
Better buy your copies before the prices go up
Go look at sold listings on eBay and there’s a crazy ass amount of purchases from today lol
I don’t remember ever buying it but I for some reason have a sealed copy on my shelf lol
I know people buy Nintendo for Nintendo but I’m glad 3rd party games seem to be doing really well
I understand why the switch 2 didnt launch with handheld boost, they wouldve gotten destroyed for the battery life even more
Nier automata with handheld boost last 40 minutes
just got a wii with gamecube ability + like 10 games for $30 at a estate sale
Massive W

Any of y’all getting that 40th anniversary Mario steelbook from Best Buy?
Just bought two games but as soon as I get them and the steelbook, I’m returning the games and keeping the steelbook lol
Waiting for a battery revision/improved screen without ghosting, and a cool special edition before picking up the Switch 2 tbh
the hdmi converter works great controller doesn’t work but i ordered a off brand one that has wii motion plus in it
i’ll be locked in on the wii for a bit once i get to modding and adding games
