nah ocarina definitely needs it. Controls are clunky, constantly navigating menus is slow, story would be better with voice acting, etc.
super metroid remake is exciting because look how good the remake of Metroid 1 and 2 were
No
i wish i could go back in time and shoot resident evil 2 remake in the back of the head if this was the outcome we were gonna get
Super Metroid and Zelda oot are like the 2 games that need a remake the least, especially cause im afraid a lot of their atmosphere will be lost with a visual change. Oot3d already ruined the final ganon fight, and 2d metroid hasnt had good music since zero mission just to point some examples

I knew gaming was over when i started seeing too many claim that re4r is better than og re4. I personally hate whoever thinks tank controls are outdated
Re4 might geniunely be a top 3 most replayable game oat, first time i played it i did like 5 full playthroughs back to back

If they remade the OOT cutscenes to the level of TOTK'S

its really conflicting cos i think both 2 and 4 remake are pretty amazing all things considered and that they both do things entirely different from the original to somewhat warrant their existence but they really didnt need to exist in all honesty especially 4 remake
i really dislike this constant need gamers have of bringing back old s*** just so it can have a new shiny paint of coating. im glad you brought up tank controls cause anyone that plays any game with it for more than 5 mins would get used to it already lmao. its like they think stuff like that was some technical limitation for the time and not a very deliberate design by the devs (in most cases)

Sorry, man, but I gotta disagree.
As someone who was born in '93 and grew up with the n64, ps1, ps2, gc, gbc/gba, and played my fair share of OG games:
If I have a chance to play a remake that retains most of the qualities of the OG, but with modern graphics, I'm taking the remake. I grew up fantasizing about the kind of graphics we have today, I'm not going back to the low res stuff, even if it had its charms
You think i should play Wind Waker or Twilight Princess next? I dont want to play Majoras Mask So soon cause its too similar in terms of style and gameplay

New mode.
Also bullet bill buff. You can drive it and have it not follow the course and use it to cut corners

Wind Waker wipes its ass with TP

Doesn’t really matter which one you play first. Both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are worth checking out

The RE remakes for the most part have been great imo

I agree. Even tho I feel like RE4 is superior to it's remake, the remake is still a 10/10 game, so who cares about a few nitpicks.
I'm still choosing a game with modern controls and looks, honestly.
Anyone else feel like this that you’re excited for a remake and play it a lot. Then you think this remake is really good but a few years passed and now you still only go back to the original again when you wanna play it
Maybe I’m alone on this but I’m very much disliking this trend of game companies retreading old IP’s with remakes. Not even endless sequels at this point
I know you have to pad the sales in between risks taken for new IP’s but man I’ve already played these games 100 times. Is an Ocarina of Time remake really necessary when the OG is a masterpiece

reasonable take but they’ll gaslight you into thinking “new” is better lol

Y’all really enjoy opening a menu and then assigning an item to a new keybind every time you want to use a different item
I shouldn’t have to assign an item to different controls every 5 seconds man, it’s a masterpiece but also quality of life has changed in 30 years. Both things can be true.

Also this is a ridiculous argument to make in this context, we just got 2 new Zelda’s back to back in 2023 and 2024. It’s not like we’re getting overwhelmed by Zelda remakes and we’re starving for new Zelda’s.
mmm yes nintendo please feed me $70-80 slop remakes instead of just porting the game mmmm
yooo what if they made a mario 64 remake but over the shoulder instead
