Fall Guys is now 60fps on Switch 2 apparently

I know it had a update but I'm surprised about how many games run better on Switch 2 without it

Yeah, it's genuinely baffling they left back compat out of any discussions pre launch

It saves so many Switch 1 games without an update to make them playable it's insane

New prediction: Thursday direct, announcement tomorrow

    Told ya!

    Except it’s a partner direct.

Still could be cool though considering the Switch 2 can run far more games than the switch 1

partner.... WHERE IS METROID RELEASE DATE

They can do a dedicated direct like with bananza. Although now that rules out September as a possible release date, its too soon and i doubt we get an august direct

    Elden Ring release date
    Silksong release date

    Black Ops 7

They better drop a PS5 and PS5 Pro update for RDR 2 if they announce it for Switch 2

I knew we'd get these, and i think this is the first of many. Third parties got hundreds of games from previous gen and this gen that they'd port to switch 2, before even getting to new releases, so this way they can give them a quick marketing cycle and pave the way for new releases.
As such, i don't really expect new announcements like a ff9 remake or dq12 or a new ubisoft game for example.
I hope we see lots of RGG, fromsoft, resident evil, BG3, hopefully patches for some switch 1 third parties, metaphor, expedition 33 (although i think its too soon for that) and death stranding.

I'm sure there is plenty of amazing third party games coming and they will be hype... Just a weird move when we ain't got release days for several major Nintendo titles... I was hoping they would do Metroid Prime 4 better, I really don't want that game to just be a random Twitter drop, the Metroid fans deserve better (even if I'm not a fan, I would hate if Zelda or Xenoblade got treated the same way)

Theres no need to worry, they released switch OLED alongside Metroid dread, put huge billboards around the world when it released, was given a top spot at the e3 direct and in general was marketed a lot better than a game that ended up selling 3m lifetime would usually get. They spent a lot of money on prime 4, there's no way they wont try to promote it as much as possible considering its also a flagship title that showcases the new console's technical capabilities since its running at 4k and has a 120fps option

That was my thought also... But a title they have worked on for so long deserves to be in our face at every given chance... And sure they can do a Metroid Direct. But the next few months are looking hella dry when it comes to first party games.

Nintendo markets games quickly these days. One month rollout at best, unless its a game that has gotten delayed. MP4 was on 3 directs and was playable at the switch 2 events for example, and it will get more attention as we approach its release.

In terms of first party games, we got MP4, Pokemon Legends, Kirby air riders, splatoon raiders and hyrule warriors age of imprisonment that at the latest are releasing in Winter, which could mean up to february 2026. Funnily enough all of these bar Pokémon are not dated, which i guess is what the September direct will be mostly for. But to me that doesnt seem like an empty lineup, far from it actually. If It was, then i honestly wouldnt know how to describe ps and Xbox's lineups the past 5 years.
Switch 2's first holiday season 6 months in could have 5 exclusives and 2 cross gen games, thats honestly pretty good.
I don't think they'll announce anything new until a february direct honestly
