• pokemon home has a free version that can allow you to move pokemon into champions

• you can trade directly on home with others. There are many people on reddit willing to send you whatever you want for absolute garbage pokemon. You can catch something off pokemon go, move it to home, then trade it for something like a m-floette with ease

• pokemon bank still has servers active. If you had it downloaded previously, you can re-download it as normal. If you did not, hacking the 3ds and downloading via hshop is easy (use FBI app, get to the QR code scanner, download hshop, then search 'bank'). I won't share direct links but simply googling "hack 3ds" gets you there if needed.

• the starter pack may be limited for purchase without a switch outside the US
