So far the DLC and passes and bundles don’t really seem to be worth paying for. Especially if you’re like me and haven’t played Pokemon since Sun and Moon and therefore don’t have access to Pokemon Home and all that to tansfer mons

I just got the starter pack personally but it's not really needed unless you want to experiment an assload with teams which isn't really reccomended without a ton of experience (I've only tried out 3 teams, 1 each season)

You can buy that still on the Nintendo website but some countries don't have access supposedly.

You can still send out your pokemon from the 3ds btw. Last night I got bank on my 3ds and moved some pokemon over from a used copy of alpha Sapphire I just bought. Sent them over to my home account no problem. Bank and home are free fwiw

Teams I've used so far. Don't even think I've used the swampert one yet, think I've had symptoms of a concussion and playing champions has been horrible. Made it awhile ago

Made me realize I bought the subscription. Did not need it, thought you could only use a Mon in 1 team instead of multiple. Also realized I was permenently recruiting everything when I didn't need any of them so I got rid of them all.

the battle passes are ass so far, i can't imagine buying them, yeah

but i can't imagine playing this game without the membership

haven't played any mainline pokemon after gen 5 so i don't have any mons on Home, so having box space for 1100 mons in Champions is a must imo

This is how I felt about Meowscarda, except I was disappointed when I finally got it

Bro it literally took me damn near two weeks, half the time I rested till all my points gone - they made the nigga like a legendary item drop

But now hes been a good general power anchor for me, I was using Ttar till I finally got him in ultra ball 2, now I'm in ultra ball 1

Should be in master rank again already tomorrow or the next day depending how much time I got

It's mainly exclusive trainer clothes and profile customs

And then they lock one of the two to three free Pokemon behind it too iirc, which you can still get in the game normally

I don't have it neither, but I'm glad the battle is actually not mandatory or that you're missing out on a lot - only thing really maybe worth is the exclusive few clothes

I swear I went thru the entire current roster of pokemon 1 and half times before Archaludon finally popped up 😭😭😭

I’m in Ultra 2 rn for doubles. Ngl if you f*** up one move in Doubles it’s over. Might as well forfeit

Best thing is mind games of team preview, try to out their lead from general meta knowledge (easier said den done I know), which 4 me I been doing doubles starting Omega ruby (I did singles in gen 5 and x/y - I really got crazy good in doubles in gen 8 sword n shield on actial cart and on showdown, single I was always just decent) so I have a general idea especially with all the older mons before gen 9

N pivoting can seem worse in doubles than singles but it genuinely can be an entire game saver with one or two switch outs

N of course, the move protect is the mascot of doubles, most mons will n should have it until u get good at general meta n game knowledge, but even then - one or two mons should still have it

Then the final thing is tweaking ur stats after gaining general idea and meta knowledge of where you can guesstimate damage and defense numbers of mons and what the average person has so u can outdo certain threatening mons to your specific pokemon, or outdo a trainer with a same mon as urs

Like I like running a grimmsnarl with 5 to 10 points in speed to outrun most ppl grimms that don't have, so I can beat them in a prankster rotation or outspeed them and potentially ko them off the back with my grimm against their grimm - many other lil examples but that's a simple one and it works great most the time, that's a real common way of surviving and getting a leg up

I'm doing dog and music work rn for my jobs irl but I'll type a lil sumn of the idea for this one

One thing I can say easily tho for Mystical Fire standing out on Sylveon, Mega Scizor can basically sweep my whole team and it's my only defense against with a fake out grimm then mystical fire sylv LMAO - thank God it's not common rn

And yes, Mega Scizor it did sweep me one time when I still had Tyranitar before I finally copped Archaludon
