    https://www.tmz.com/2026/03/20/quentin-tarantino-partners-with-sly-stallone-for-new-series/

Despite his tenth and final film not happening anytime soon, Quentin Tarantino is certainly keeping busy. He’s already working on a play that’s set to premiere next year in London’s West End, and now there’s this…

Tarantino is set to write and co-direct, with Sylvester Stallone, a 1930s-set gangster series. Not only that, it will be shot in black and white using 1930s cameras. No plot details have been revealed, but it’s being described as a six-part series featuring gangsters, showgirls, boxing, and music.

There’s no word yet on the cast, but Stallone will not be acting on screen, only directing. More to come…

I’ve been saying for years when everyone complained about and/or doubted his “10
Film” rule, that he was going to stick to it, but he’d instead move onto doing television, literature, and theater. He’s had an idea for a 30’s gangster film for a while, but now he can realize it in a more appropriate format.

Edit: Looking through the thread and people are still complaining. SMH.

The thing is stuff like Inglorious Basterds was gonna be a mini series at one point because he wrote so much material. So I'm excited that he wants to explore that avenue.

Plus if we being real the whole 10 movie thing is great marketing because every time anything new is announced with Tarantino, it gets immediate attention surrounding around the 10th movie.

I don’t even think the 10 film rule is due to his ego (partly of course), but more so an OCD thing. He’s always admired filmmakers with small, consistent filmographies. Like a band with a good run of albums who broke up before things went bad. He’s imagining his films neatly organized on a shelf. I think he’s also well aware of his limits and wants to spend more time raising his kid and experimenting in different avenues. If this means we get more projects from him, as well as potential film scripts directed by different auteurs, then I’m all for it.

I mean his reasoning never made sense to me tbh "the older you get the weaker your films become"....that may be true for some, but guys like Scorsese is having a generational run in his mid 80s. And I don't see why Tarantino couldn't do the same thing. But it truly doesn't matter to me because that's his choice.

I've always been on board with idc how many movies we get if he only wants to do 10, I'll take more books, I'll take published scripts, I'll definitely take series. Yeah it's a "loop hole" to still working but why wouldn't any fan of Tarantino not be excited about these "loop holes"

So next lets get the Kill Bill 3-4 sequels as a mini series.

    Django Zorro mini series.

    Star Trek mini series.

    Vega brothers animated mini series

i need that django zorro series badly. i read the comic, and Im ngl I really wish it was banderas' zorro with Jamie's django. idk i just feel like that would be the move.

That would still be the move if they were to make that s*** NOW, even, before Banderas and Foxx get too old. Like just think about it. You would get the black audience and the latino audience, you would be making a spin-off to two cult classics, you have the good will of audiences already…I just feel like that would print money.

Yup that s*** would be amazing. And the rumor was he was writing it with Jarrod Carmichael, so he can collab with him still if hes feeling the need to collab with others on these projects

using 30s cameras sounds pretty regarded. gives u nothing but problems and adds nothing to the look.

I think he’s most likely gonna use the same technique PTA x Robert Elswitt used for There Will Be Blood where they incorporated a lens from 1910 to give it an authentic old look

That same approach but with 30s cameras

    1996 BRL

Polymarket got the line at 8.5 Hard 'er's in the first 2 episodes

    I'm taking the over

As we speak, Tarantino is busy writing a cameo for himself in which he unnecessarily drops five hard Rs with an absolute dogshit accent, complemented by horrible acting

  • Wigga Scientist

Nothing has topped seeing OUATIH in the theatres… nothing

For me, I think Babylon, interstaller rerelease, dune 2 and maybe sinners are my contenders

lenses is of course a given, but a camera doesn't add to the visual look by itself, it's just a black box for film.

30s cameras are fairly loud as well, smaller film format (shoots regular 35 instead of s35 which's been the standard since phasing out contact printing).

they're also gigantic and weigh 3-4 times more than a modern film camera. i know that some directors tried using it because they wanted the constraints the size of the camera adds but ultimately didn't result in anything useful
