when are we expecting online to drop?

on one side i dont want the online ecosystem to get oversaturated quickly

but on the other hand although there will definitely be endless amounts of gameplay on singleplayer mode i really want to bullshit around with friends online

willing to bet next spring or summer.

Christmas day or like 20 Dec. Give people time to finish the single player, drop online while everybody at home

Been seeing this a lot and deadass, I wonder why Rockstar don't save money on a marketing budget and just skip the extra s*** this time. Trailers are essential but all the s*** that cost hella money like billboards, painting buildings etc - Rockstar can actually skip it. This game is already doing $1 billion in sales in a day or 2, might as well maximise their profits by spending less on marketing this time

the reason rockstar games sell as much as they do is because they make sure they let people know that their game is coming out.

I don't think this applies to GTA 6. 5 made $1 billion in sales in 3 days. Even at this point with the little marketing they've done, VI is beating that because of how much bigger the franchise is because of V and the long wait

Cover art reveal has 10 million views in 5 days. And that's just YouTube

172 million views just in one day. Obviously bots are in there, but it's been 5 days and the amount of real people who have seen that reveal are probably in the region of that figure, if not more. If even 20 million people buy the game for $70 on launch day, that's already $1.4 billion. Now consider $80-$90 price

This game doesn't need marketing

Now consider how many more people would buy this game if they market it.

How many people are there at this point that aren't aware of GTA 6? "We got __ before GTA 6" is a huge meme that even the White House is referencing

Is $200 million or whatever on marketing really worth it when your game is doing a billion in sales day 1 anyway? Especially when you consider how much money had to be spent on the actual development of the game, music licenses etc
