Been seeing this a lot and deadass, I wonder why Rockstar don't save money on a marketing budget and just skip the extra s*** this time. Trailers are essential but all the s*** that cost hella money like billboards, painting buildings etc - Rockstar can actually skip it. This game is already doing $1 billion in sales in a day or 2, might as well maximise their profits by spending less on marketing this time

They're still an institution but maximizing reach through marketing is still hella effective for them. Drake didn't need to market ICEMAN but it gave the rollout extra sheen you know

I don’t think any amount of prep time for servers will be enough to handle the launch of GTA Online 2

i mean it wont be out at launch. they will know by that time how many copies they sold and how many active players and hopefully they can scale up and prepare for that onslaught

you might be thinking heists which was added a year and a half post release

    might be

s*** was a long time ago no wonder my memory is messed up

I feel like the purpose of marketing is to
    a) make people aware of your product and
    b) convince them to buy it

Pretty much everybody is aware that GTA VI is dropping on 19 Nov, gamer or not. Pretty much everybody who wants to play it already knows they're going to buy it but for the few people who still need convincing, the trailers and FOMO will do that

I just don't see the need for the huge marketing budget this game will undoubtedly have because how many sales are they actually getting from people sitting in traffic on their commute and a billboard was what reminded or convinced them to cop GTA 6? Might as well keep that money, it's diminishing returns

You‘re not wrong at all but I worked in that field for a long time and you would be surprised how important marketing is, especially when you have one of the biggest games on the table. There are still millions over millions who don‘t really know s*** about GTA VI (especially kids)

Also they have unlimited money so they don‘t really need to care about the 2-3 millions more

We probably talking more like $200-300 million Just basing that off V marketing budget being 100-150 million and that was 13 years ago, RDR2 marketing was in the 200-300 million range too

I was just saying some numbers lmao of course it‘s way higher but they don‘t care at all about that. It wouldn‘t even surprise me if they‘re doing way more than usual

Will the game be optimized for the capabilities of PS5 and Xbox Series X?

By purchasing the console version, you can be sure that you are getting a product polished down to the smallest detail. GTA VI on next-generation consoles offers two graphics modes to choose from (Performance and Quality), support for DualSense controller features on PS5, providing realistic haptic feedback vibrations, and extremely fast loading screens thanks to the power of SSD storage.

Literally all I need is 40, imo the 10 frame difference feels like so much. Grew up running pc games at 40fps

  • Saw a post with a whole comment section of people really believing this games gonna be over 100 for base price
