So grateful to have grown up with young parents with good music taste. My mom was the one growing up always listening Badu, Aayliah, Jodeci, D'Angelo and Reasnable Doubt was played in the car for a majority of my childhood. Dad was always bumping Kanye, Mobb Deep, Dead Prez, Nas, Outkast, The Roots, Mos Def & Pac. Around 17 through 19 years old, I went through a phase where I, for the most past, exclusively listening to music from my childhood. I had a 02 Cadillac DeVille at the time with a sound system out of this world. Pretty sure it was stock too. I would always cruise and listen to Brown Sugar & ATLiens. I remember driving down my long apartment street, windows rolled all the way down, bumping the song Brown Sugar. OG was outside watering his grass as I was approaching, he turned his head, looked at me, smiled and gave me an aggressive head nod of approval. Furthermore, I knew I was on the right track. RIP to the one and only D'Angelo.
