why is the highly praised classic 'The Incredibles' not on this list? give me one good reason why it didn't make the cut. you can't
this is just pure elitism
How many of y’all have seen Shoah? (&/or what is the longest movie you’ve seen?). I feel like it may end up disappointing me but I also don’t know what to expect outside of ‘interviews’. Am wondering if I can take up a chapter and then return in a couple days or if it’s better to watch in as short a span of time as possible

I've been building up my courage and I'm getting close

I feel like there's no way that film can't be fascinating
I think this is the longest film I've seen at 317 minutes

Ooooh I NEED to see this, especially since I liked the director’s last two movies so much. Did you do it in one watch?
I split Sátántangó across like 5 or 6 nights but it was worth it.

I watch like every film over multiple watches cuz I don't have a good attention span but yeah Hamaguchi one of the best doing it right now

Shoah is amazing. I’d prolly watch an hour an a half a day. I couldn’t do it all in one sitting.

I have a thing about only rly finishing films in one sitting, so i think the longest one i’ve seen is Barry Lyndon at ~3.5 hours

Watched Napoleon (1927) in one sitting. That film broke conventions at their time and pioneered editing and early usage of widescreen format. Others include Mysteries of Lisbon and Bondarchuk's War and Peace.
1. Twin Peaks: The Return (1014 minutes, watched it in two sessions though.)
2. Satantango (439 minutes)
3. Arabian Nights (382 minutes)
4. The Best of Youth (366 minutes)
5. Fantomas (340 minutes)
6. Nymphomaniac Director's Cut (325 minutes)
7. 1900 (317 minutes)
Attempted Satantango twice and Napoleon once and failed
gotta try again from the beginning though, can't break the spell by spreading it out over several days
Did get through tv version of Scenes From A Marriage in one go
Also Berlin Alexanderplatz
Out 1 is no lie the worst movie I've ever seen, absolutely insufferable, and it stays that way for 13 hours, promoting it from bad to actual torture
I guess we all should start watching more Lav Diaz and Edgar Reitz
Lino Brocka definitely made me want to check out some more Filipino cinema
F***ing cheater
Yea I couldn’t even keep it to the three scheduled intermissions
but I was able to do An Elephant Sitting Still at 4hr in one night. That’s the longest single sitting thing for me. I think if I did that in 2 nights it would’ve been fine tho. And I say this as someone who really values the idea of cinema being ‘an experience in duration.’ I decided it was more valuable to see the movie by any means rather than eternally pushing off its viewing
Y’all talking about some long ass movies and I’m sitting here marinating on some sweet 90 minute giallo flicks. All The Colors of the Dark rewatch was potent. Edwige Fenech.
