I think it’s just that pushing trade school as a one size fits all path to making money could be perilous, as it was for coders. There’s a cap on how many people we need for both paths, and once we’re past that cap that experience decreases in value drastically

I can promise you without a doubt, there are not enough skilled workers man lol

who the f*** is driving out to a Midwest family in Nebraska to fix their plumbing? a nigga who wants that bag

If you’re an outgoing, talkative person the networking takes care of itself. That goes hand-in-hand with having a “good attitude” imo

Depends on the job imo, networking doesnt necessarily require more than just being around the right ppl and putting in work

If you’re already set in your job/career then definitely, but it helps open other doors later down the line either way. People have surprisingly good memories when you make an impression on them

yes i know lol, but using trade schools as a one path fits all method is not gonna work for a lot of people for a myriad of reasons:

    • blue collar positions like HVAC, electricians are already over-saturated and with private equity taking over the blue collar industry that is only gonna get worse

    • blue collar work wears your body out like hell leaving many workers unhappy and in pain, and that’s obviously not for everyone

    • some blue collar training still takes years and years and is expensive

now if someone really wants to go to trade school then by all means do it, but if we keep telling these kids trade school is a one stop fix all then the market for these is gonna crash and some niggas will be f***ed

    • a nigga that actually went to trade school

knowing how to do electrical and really any work with an extensive toolbox will always get you a job somewhere

one of the most open, always hiring and low filled jobs right now is field engineers cause like you said, nobody wants to do the driving, but the work is there and it’s a lot of it. only saying that cause pursuing that field allowed me to live in 2 different cities/countries in 2024 and make more money in my time there than I am now in my current job
