They're having a hard time finding the game.
Iirc they made a Kickstarter a while back and needed like $100,000. But they were only able to raise like $2000 or something.
Which is crazy, cause dude has a huge fanbase, and a following. So you'd think they'd be able to raise money like nothing
damn
The open zone does seem to be the bread & butter of the game so if it’s good enough I can definitely excuse cyberspace levels being less than stellar . That video may have just been a poorly designed level in particular because I’ve seen other stages that look great. Also, does Sonic’s speed level apply to Cyberspace, or are they universal ?
All in all Cyberspace in Frontiers seems to be the new equivalent of special stages in Genesis era Sonic games so I’m not too pressed about them. I’m sure we can expect an inevitable patch after release as much as I’d hate to count on that
cyberspace speed/controls r all set n cant be changed like the open world controls can
tbh i dont even think the cyberspace levels r mediocre. u will recontextualize them once u play the game n see what all it has to offer. they aint the main objectives n are more like missions u can do if u want. personally i found them pretty fun. 2nd half of the game they rly start to pop off with the depth of them. u can legit finish the game while skipping out on over 90% of them, but i still sought each one out cus they're nice little challenges
also i just like the aesthetic of em. yeah green hill sky sanctuary etc artstyle can be seen as boring to some ppl but atmosphere of each stage is different. i really liked the uncanny feeling of playing thru an SA2 stage w/ chemical plant/bizarro cyberworld aesthetic. it's a mood that complements the rest of the game imo
Because those are just the cyberspace zones bro lol basically as important to the gameplay as the special ring zones from the genesis days. There are like 4-5 open zone maps where you’re not just going forward and there’s a lot of exploration and puzzles with world enemies, bosses, etc. They even have a skill tree and all that for combos and traversal.
Have you seen the gameplay of the island zones?
idk about island but i saw gameplay off puzzles and travel in the open world and that s*** looked even worse
sucking running in this game got the same energy as that s***ty ass bike in gotham knights.
mania is diff 4 me cuz 2D & not in-house like that that's def 1 of the best sonic games just seperate 2D & 3D in my mind always
i don't wanna talk abt colors & generations cuz i rly rly dislike those games 💀
fan games r real tho
what do you not like about gens? to me its the only boost era package to be solid through and through.
classic sonic handling might not be 1:1 but it does what it needs to.
We've had Unleashed(was mixed back then. But overtime came to be considered great)
Mania
Colors
Generations
The only games I consider to be truly bad are 06, the Storybook games, and Boom. And even with Boom, that wasn't a Sonic team game. And with 06, the ideas were there, it was just unfinished and broken.
Personally don't feel like the franchise is as bad as made out. The vast majority of the "bad" games are usually just middle of the road at worst.
We also have a huge community of fan games
ill always have a soft spot for 06 and what it was clearly meant to be. people want sa3, and that was very clearly it.

There's actually a fan who's been dedicated to fixing 06. It's called Sonic P-06.
Supposedly, from what he's worked on so far, it's decent. Doesn't necessarily mean that 06 would have been a masterpiece.
But head Sega not screwed over Sonic Team by splitting the team in half without extending deadlines, it probably would have been much better.

Black Knight a good ass game and I’ll die on that hill
I haven't played it, but was iffy one whether or not to call it mediocre instead of bad.
I've seen a lot of ppl who say "it's alright" though. Definitely not nearly as hated as Secret Rings

Secret Rings is the worst Sonic game.

a lot of the design irritates me in the 3D sxns (not 2 the point of colors tho) & i rly do not like how modern sonic controls in that game. i tried 2 revisit it recently cuz i luv'd that s*** as a kid but man it just made me sad especially when it came 2 how sonic feels i don't like feeling like i'm controlling a tank personally

its definitely like controlling a sonic shaped racecar, but it is intentional.
ig what u mean though

yea i understand the purpose but it's not rly my thing lol i wish it was tho don't get me wrong

Every main console game. Not including handhelds.
I had surgery a few months ago, so I've been going through every mainline Sonic game to revisit some nostalgia (haven't properly played a Sonic game in like a decade other than Mania).
I liked some more than I expected to and disliked others more than I expected to.
anyone think like sonic sounds like an insecure teenager trying to make their voice deeper
if you counting every game it’s probably this lmao

I had this on gamecube from the Sonic collection disk. Legit the first game that made me feel sick from the visuals idk what it was about it. Just made my stomach turn.
Could never beat this garbage
Edit: nvm I’m thinking about Sonic 3D Blast, that’s different
