Most game journalists been trash and have the competing interest of trying to sensationalize their reviews to get views cus that’s how they get money (see whichever dumb outlet rated it a 1/5 as reference)

But saw 1 popular youtuber that uploaded a damn near 50min review for Frontiers yesterday.

Idk if he gave it a bad review or a good score cause for like the first 20 minutes he just went in and on about his relation to Sonic and his history with the games.

Just kept thinking "DAWG.... just say whether or not you liked the new game...." couldn't even finish it......

Just thought it was hella pretentious to upload a 50 minute review for a game that hasn't even officially released yet

If the metacritic avg is 9/10 that means there wasn’t many low reviews to pull the average down, in other words there is consensus

If something is 7/10 then it usually means people loved it and hated it and the average is in the middle, aka no consensus

and obviously if something is 2 or 3 then that means almost no one liked it which is consensus again

In the BYB review they acknowledge all of the flaws, and I’m glad they’re being honest about it because I don’t want to expect too much but in the end they said it is a good game and that’s what counts the most with this first attempt at a game like this.

This "reaction" killed me, cause he reacted to the IGN review and, despite them giving it a 7, he was like "sounded like they wanted to give it a 5...."
Then went on to say that two other YouTube critics that he trusted more confirmed his concerns that it would be bad.

He then caps off the video by saying "I'm happy to say though; one game that I was concerned that is turning out to be pretty great. Gotham Knights! I'm really enjoying that"
