Spielberg still the f***ing man

Third act was in the trailer some . The reporter scene was great

Spielberg still got his fast ball in terms of providing a quality theatrical experience. The actual story itself though.. it was just okay

Chase scene made me lean forward in my chair..

I feel like coleman domingo is in every movie or show I watch now
and josh oconnor is in half the movies (just realized hes not the same guy in one night only when they showed the trailer before this)

I enjoyed it, my son enjoyed it

I saw it a week ago and my score has dropped from a 7/10 to a 5/10 lol

I just feel like so many complaints I see people say in other threads are just completely ignored for this movie lol like spoon feeding plot points to us and weak antagonist.

If anything there’s far less being explained here than in most modern movies. Mfs going crazy for Obsession or Project Hail Mary here and those movies are 99% exposition

I’m not saying obsession or Hail Mary perfect by any means . With so much of this movie being action chase set piece it’s fair that some that’s not for them . None of the 3 movies are perfect writing . One just meant to be a fun horror movie. Another is based on a book . I think people are both extremes on disclosure day it’s not worst movie ever or greatest it’s alright . Just dissatisfying after rollout and reviews

I also genuinely disagree with this being all action chase set pieces. There’s only 2 chases and most of the movie is conversations. If anything there’s more chases in OBAA

Also I hate the notion that because a movie is trying to be fun, it can’t be criticized as hard as a movie trying to be serious and humanist. Between the two movies, disclosure day is taking far bigger risks and delivers far less exposition but yall gonna d***ride Obsession because it’s “fun”? FOH

I think it’s yall being unserious. You can’t pick and choose when exposition bothers you, especially when yall picking a movie that delivers arguably the least exposition a mainstream genre movie has given us this decade

The entire farm argument is heavy handed . Exposition exist in all movies . My issue with this movie is plot devices , conveniences and plot armor . Obsession is a horror movie where the entire budget was likely less than what someone was paid to write this movie

I never said I think obsession is a perfect movie . I’ve said no movie so far this year would be my personal favorite by year end . Obsession a fun theater experience. Disclosure day could have been great to me
