I think the movie we got was a lot better than the movie it was sold to be. The title has more to do with Spielberg himself and the nature of filmmaking than aliens. I don’t think it’s perfect by any means but I also think the messiness of the script is purposeful in the films themes of how image making can sell us lies and manipulate us (shown more literally in The Fabelmans)

With that said, I definitely think they could’ve sold us more on people being in mass hysteria with WW3 because they hardly showed that

How was 70mm I switched to imax due to showtimes

I know major insider likes Spielberg but

very good looking print. there was very little print damage since it hadn't screened that much, and you could actually see the film grain since it's a blow-up (something you don't even get from regular 35mm prints of current day films shot on that format)
