How does the game set out to have a “revenge isn’t worth it” story line, but in the end Abby gets away with revenge and gets to walk away alive?
I really loved the game but I honestly don’t see myself revisiting it for a LONG time. To me it feels more like a one time playthrough and maybe a while from now I’ll go back to it. It’s just way too emotionally tolling and I feel Part 1 is something I could go back to more.
That shot at the end where Ellie is just sitting in the beach looking at the fog after letting Abby leave..

Never looking at the OG Title screen the same

The ending really gave us some death stranding type s*** lol

how did she get away with revenge? she lost her friends and the love of her life because she wanted revenge. she lost. everyone here lost. the point of the story is that revenge leads to a path of no winning. its just guilt and regret.
The second half really changed the way I looked at this. Mfs at ND managed to get me to like Abby
same. when i first started the abby chapters i was like naaah f*** this b****, i cba to even look for her collectibles lol. but then she really grew on me and at end when ellie’s f***ing her up i just thought mannn i’m so sorry abbie, and i’m so sorry ellie too. it’s really a lot to take in.
I personally enjoyed this story more then the first
I like the first but didn’t love it like everyone else and found it overrated

Exactly, u could argue that’s worse then death cause u gotta live with it. That’s why I don’t get the argument that Abby didn’t get hers in this game.
I knew Joel was finna die just based on his actions from the first game
He caused too much pain to have a peaceful exit if we being real.
My heart f***ing broke when Ellie left Dina
That moment almost made me hate her ngl
But that PTSD flashback in the barnyard
also from now on it's f*** Tommy
Bro the PTSD moments are done so well, like honestly prolly the best I’ve ever seen on any medium
You can argue part 1 has a basic story, but in no way is it bad. Part 2 story is straight up trash
You can’t really argue that this part 2 story is straight up trash

From a far, Joel ruined humanity last chance but from our point of view, he saved his daughter figures life. Then we see that he ruined a Abby’s life with his good intentions (in his mind). To not feel bad for Abby once you play her story makes me wonder what type of empathy some of the people who hate it have. You can feel bad for both sides in the game. It’s not black and white. Its circumstances of this s***ty world they live in. You are the hero of your own story. People are too used games where you feel vindicated and justified for your characters actions. This game makes you feel dirty. This game makes you feel like a monster. THAT is effective storytelling.
