talking more about how an album is sequenced more than the quality of the songs itself

for example, rihanna singing "its hard to be humble" at the end of loyalty from kendrick's damn seems like a pretty perfect segue to humble but instead the next song is pride, you can def make the argument this makes sense thematically however

the entire concept of DAMN is duality in nature which is why it transitions from Loyalty to Pride, you dealing with a Gemini, s*** is never linear lol

he goes from saying I need your loyalty to being too prideful to open up to his partner back to reflecting on his desire to be humble right back into lustful desire at his newfound mental

it’s a trip in how he keeps going back and forth between recognizing his faults and proudly engaging in the faults with his lover and traumas as the catalyst for the repetitive cycle
