You also have to remember that lots of those albums were artificially prevented from charting due to billboard rules that took effect after Nielsen Soundscan started tracking music in 1991 & weren’t changed until December 2009 bc of MJ.
Nowadays a lot of the records being most consumed and would cause those albums to chart again don’t apply to the album itself, because those records get shoved onto a Greatest Hits collection.
So the album records don’t really get tracked.
You see this with Post Malone and The Weeknd too.
