The beef in general because not everything a male Drake fan says deserves a response or thread . It used to not get a response or thread at all
This been happening since Donda/CLB

True each beef its gotten increasingly worse . Music section became a lot of sensationalism and beefs of users
sales do play a factor in classics tho lol
Reasonable doubt is a double platinum album.

Niggas tryna make it seem like RD is an obscure 90s album because it’s streams aren’t inflated
Some of these Drake fans genuinely don’t care about hip hop or even music in general.
They called Kendrick “Harriet Tubman music”
Niggas spent the last two years discussing how fake and arbitrary everything in the music industry is when it comes to sales, streams, promotion, and chart success… but still conveniently use it to push narratives and goofy s*** like this lol
F*** the charts, Jay sold out Yankee stadium just so he can perform an album from 30 years ago. Only classics can have that effect.
Men lie. Women lie. Nonbinary people lie. But number's don't. Take any math class and you'd know this
Drake haters aren't the brightest tool in the shed
Drake fans was just b****ing for two years about Numbers actually lying and Drake was at the forefront he even sued about it

So sales do mean something, but only the ones you can use to prove your point
When last you play it?
Don't lie
Let me look in my iTunes lol it’ll literally tell me. Also the CD sits in my library.
Edit: may 9th if you must know
I run through jays classics at least once a month. Why do you ask?

I just don’t understand the argument and why it’s happening

That’s the entire point of these discussions in the first place people using “sales” as a metric to prove their point how they see fit.
Yes ticket sales mean more than streams to me when you have to stream the price of renting a studio apartment or it to count as one album purchase.
Reasonable doubt is double platinum after barely going gold its first year it’s stood the test of time.

If classics = replay value
And Spotify stats are objective measures of replay value, then the albums > 10 to 15 years old still being streamed by millions of people are classics.
Do you agree?

Not really
Spotify streams don’t mean s*** compared to actual sales IMO
not s***.
Could also argue most classics came out before streaming so people own them instead of renting access to them.

Are you just being an old head?
Nobody buys CDs or tapes anymore

There are albums that came out long before streaming that are still high on streaming charts
I just don’t understand the argument and why it’s happening
Niggas on the internet have a one sided beef wit Jay Z. A bunch of niggas who weren’t even there for his actual prime with some of the worst takes.

Is Recovery a classic because it has continued to rack up sales more than a decade after its release?

Yes there are.

I was there, you just grew up in a circle that fell for the hype.
I don't blame you for it, really. If everybody around me kept reaffirming that Jay Z invented button ups and unironically starting sentences with "Hov said...", I'd be a little brainwashed too.

Spotify is the lowest form of music engagement.
You make a good point maybe thats why the quality has decline so much in general. Not a lot of care taken into physicals, booklets, ect.

I don’t give a f*** about Eminem, and that’s not why I mentioned RD being double platinum after its release. It’s a classic album beyond sales, and has been stamped for decades. But it’s not an obscure underground rap album either
