    Ok so rundown.

This has every single game already on steam playable.

At least 4x as powerful as current switch

    Can run emulators

    Can run any OS.

Has a micro SD card expansion slot.

    Bluetooth audio

    Quick resume

    Back paddle buttons

Steam workshop mods and non steam mods work

    And it starts at $400

    F*** a switch pro tbh

Eh. I think you underestimate how the thirsty the pc market is for something just like this. I don’t think this will flop at all.

Can run emulators? you might be right

Can run any OS you can install what ever emulator you want

But natively. It can run any emulator that’s on retroarch steam… which is the following list

More are being added monthly though.

honestly it looks like the ultimate handheld for the most part

i am however skeptical of it's battery life, and the fact that it's going to be a bit heavy (1.5 lbs, as opposed to the switch which is .88 lbs)

    From durante on the steamdeck

It basically has the same per pixel performance as the series x does at 4k as the steamdeck does at 800p

IGN said they could play fallen order all high settings at a stable 60FPS.

I assume it could prob handle a modded Xcom 2

why is it called Steam Deck? was just wondering this lol

Out of all the choices, it just seems weird

they could’ve called it the steam machine lmao

  • Jul 16, 2021

Damn the 512gb model has a better screen?

$250 is a huge difference tho

  • Jul 16, 2021

Feels good to see a new company(console wise)actually put some effort into coming into the market. I’m definitely gonna try and put my $5 down to reserve one,I think ima go for the 256gb version. Maybe if this actually sales well and becomes mainstream,Valve will finally make a home console and release HL3 as a launch title
