amazing pop record, and it makes me so nostalgic for a great era in my life when I was at my happiest. I think people just don’t like weezer doing pop so they dismiss it immediatley, when I’d say PD was their best go at it
I was just jamming Pacific Daydream for the first time in a couple years the other day, way better than I remember it

COME HERE
it does makes me nostalgic too, that adds to the replay but even without it, i think it’s a masterpiece that a selection of fans already made their made about before it came out, they decided to hate feels like summer right off the bat because it wasn’t live rocking band so automatically associated to raditude and not something new, even tho the song is among the best rivers songwriting quality ability as the song lines in what he does best: making a bop out of sad lyrics (it’s about a lover who passed away)
unfortunately weezer fan base can be a cancer, a lot of them are oldschool old heads that only listens to bands from that time or they’re young posers that needs a needledrop review for validation, therefor if he hates pacific daydream it can’t be saved
imo it’s like third or fourth best weezer

omg more ppl are coming around this masterpiece
@Bad_Finger_Boogie
loved it day one, one of the weezer albums where there’s no songs to skip
I NEED HAPPY HOUR
ON saaad days
rivers killed it with that song, again with his formula of sad lyrics to upbeat, wanted to make something dancable that ppl couldn’t tell it was weezer and it became of one their best charting singles in a long time, it just got added on rotation at work (along with buddy holly too! amazing)
this version too

Mexican Fender's bridge is the best part of the album imo
it’s amazing, the song is really great looking back, it starts thin with very light verses, a beat and just like two chords strummed very little, they chorus beautifully glows into a beach boys pastiche that is like my favorite section and then that killer bridge
it kills me that we had the chance of them playing some of this material live when it debuted and ppl took it for granted
like how can you hear this and not think it’s classic crafted weezer song?

such amazing lyrics all over the album too f*** ...
in the sets of home demos rivers is selling on his website he added one to the white album pack that samples kanye west and it’s A BANGER he took it out (maybe copyright infringement possibility since its most likely not cleared??) but i got it saved
wanna upload and share it here but i think that would be illegal no? or does it not fall in those rules
Karl: “OK will be first, but obviously not as "soon" as originally claimed”
@VizeGuy at least that’s an update

yeah PD is like ranked 3rd for me these days behind blue and Pinkerton tbh, can easily just hit play and spin it all back to front with a smile on my face

Yeah, honestly I think the names Van Weezer and OKH are both very lackluster tbh
Yeah, honestly I think the names Van Weezer and OKH are both very lackluster tbh
yeah rivers stated himself that they were just like file names for the projects and they went with it
idk for van weezer i see how it makes sense to give away the concept
but okh idk how that relates to okc tho....
need a new title and a new cover for VW for real though
agree with cover, some of the fan stuff have been great

also rivers has stated that all the demos released on his market are all material that he’s done working with so like unless it’s stuff already rumored for van weezer or okh because this were done way before all that the rest that is made available here he won’t be mining back to it to make new songs
we still learning cool things
summer elaine and drunk dori verses goes back to 2002
rivers attempted to redo superstar for the white album (a widely pre green era known demo they used to play live)
n other crazy stuff like that
@Womanpuncher69 i love that before i left you were on raditude and now am back you’re halfway through black yet the only review you gave was for teal, of all things
where do you rank ewbaite, white? how you like them
@Sir_Swagalot
(quoted wrong post lol but wtv)
lil treat volume 2 to make up for the extended wait on weezers camp, more alike music, as promised:
this band is very dear to me, there’s two singers songwriters and one of them is known in the weezer timeline for having done the homie album in collaboration with another weezer fan
that homie tribute album consists of them recording some of the demos for the attempted homie album (it was a side project rivers had post pinkerton when he was in boston, more country inspired but never saw the light of the day, all we got from it were live recordings bootlegs of these songs as he premiered them live with his band before canceling it but that’s about it) but also some abandoned songs for weezers third album before it turned into what would become the green album
it all comes super coherent and professional, it’s the closest we will ever get to a full version of it, similar to how that group of fans got together to make, as much as they could, fleshed out finished product of songs from the black hole project
the talent is immense and the performance really gives the songs justice, i consider some of these songs to be one of rivers finest work

however, here’s two for one if you want something not weezer related: as i was saying one of these guys had his own band, they never took off or anything, just local stuff, only did one ep then broke up, but what an amazing of indie piece it is
weezer infused but more so smashing pumpkins and some beach boys, great alternative stuff with hooks for days, stellar performance all around:

if you like what you hear here’s a link to stream the ep in full:
thelunatic.bandcamp.com/album/milk
it’s free to listen but if you fw it feel free to pay for it, they really aren’t a thing (their videos on youtube have like 500 views max and s*** dropped in 2011) so it would be cool
i can guarantee you that no one else other than me will ever bring this band up to y’all lol but it’s a shame, they’re crazy talented and you guys would love it i think
