the mala era version is much better tho imo with the harmonies by the guys in the verses gives it some early beatles edge and just the energy is more there

so many great s*** from that era man...

but most of all one of my very favorite among the abandoned songs with organ player, bottle of wine, etc...

before ewbaite with stuff like the ive had it up to here bridge or jacked up on white where rivers finally put a light on his outstanding very high falsetto abilities on record, this was the only song i can think of where he went for the highest falsetto possible lead, fantastic song..

Not sure why but this always gave me Pinkerton vibes. It’s mostly a general melody I could have seen Rivers using.

Fevers & Mirrors is a top 10 album for me, so I highly recommend that. Just know ahead of time that Conner Oberst’s voice is incredibly frail sounding so it’s a bit hard to get used to if you don’t vibe with that sort of thing. To me it works cause it compliments both the delicate sadness of the music as well as when it sort of breaks down into a more energetic frustration. He’s like a Midwestern emo vocialist with a bit of Bob Dylan.

here’s something wild, don’t know if you knew this but this early 00s band named zed did a cover of starlight and made it their single with music video, isn’t that crazy that the green album was such a hit that bands were trying to make a hit out of a b side of that album? understandably so, it sounds like a hit

underrated song that should’ve been on the album, it’s one of the most “early beatles with loud guitars” songs of that era that pat described the album to be, i can totally see that with this one the most

the guy i told u i did my project with is the one who put me on way back but he got tired of him always throwing just short songs
