The only things kendrick has on drake is storytelling (which the boy is very good at too) and unnecessary rhyming

    everything else drake sweeps imo

Albums aside, the amount of incredible and memory linked tracks Drake has is mind boggling. An entire generation has grown up on his music and that's beyond greater than any album sales or critical acclaim an artist can achieve.

    He’s better.

Really Kendrick dumb down his s*** too much. It's a different era in music, certain Easter eggs like synchronized timings are cool but I'd prefer to hear about it. He does it that well, but only like 4 songs an album. I'm personally not listening to his rock inspired songs, and I think he should give us the s*** he not putting out

Whereas Drake will give you 2-3 of those and the bops every 15 months

  • It’s not my place to say one man is above another I’ll let the lord decide which rapper goes in which tier

Kendrick has higher quality albums but that’s about it

Kendrick was also a better rapper than Drake in the 2010s but based on 2020s output Drake is a better rapper than Kendrick skill wise rn. Middle of the ocean and Churchill clear every verse Kendrick spit this decade and I’m not even exaggerating.

Other than that it’s really no contest

Drake has bigger hits, more consistent, more versatility

I will say though Drake has yet to challenge himself creatively in the way that Kendrick has done consistently so that’s something I feel Kendrick will always have over him but yeah Drake clears

  • depends
    drake is more well rounded
    kendrick is the better rapper

    Way better rapper lyrically

    and

    musically

I was with you but strongly disagree with that last point. Drake continues to challenge himself with new genres and production. I feel like Kendrick let's us down in that department. We know what to expect from him and he'll never surprise us with a Honestly Nevermind type of album. He sticks to his lane and I don't blame him but respect Drake more for trying and pushing himself when he could coast off making IYRTITL albums over and over again for the rest of his career

When I say “challenge himself creatively” I don’t mean try different sounds

We all know Drake is more than willing to do that

I’m talking about him challenging himself from a technical standpoint musically. Really fully fleshing out the production and focusing on making an album an experience and not just a bunch of hot songs. Great mixing, great transitions, great instrumentation that supports strong production

This is what Kendrick does best and Drake hasn’t done this since TC/NWTS

His beats be hot but it’s never fleshed out beyond the surface level idea

  • respectfully kendrick lamar would never do a full length dance album exec produced by the legendary black coffee

  • Aug 24, 2023

I'll also say I've never really considered Drake's classic albums on par with other artists classic albums

There's almost a clear gap in quality between Take Care and GKMC/MBDTF/Reasonable Doubt/Aquemini etc

  • GeorgeKush

This website has had the same conversation for damn near ten years why tf did I make a new account here lmao

Want this album too ngl, Drake is overdue for his MBDTF / Rodeo where there is extreme focus on production
