wow, no one knew that these white men were sleeping with minors until they passed away? how convenient!

what would it take for people to know? would it take Lori Maddox writing an article titled "I lost my virginity to David Bowie" in 2015, the year before Bowie died? https://www.thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/i-lost-my-virginity-to-david-bowie

would it take Perez Hilton writing an article in 2009 about a 35 year old Walker being engaged to a teenager? https://perezhilton.com/2009-02-05-paul-walker-35-engaged-to-teenager#sthash.NMcVRRAr.dpb

    idk

Maybe because Lori Maddox was recollecting it as something she was excited about and had no shame about it. If she wrote it and said "I was traumatized the older I got" then maybe the view would be different. Idk fam I'm not a David Bowie fan.

With all respect due to Paul Walker, homie just wasn't that popular a name (outside of Fast And Furious fame) for anyone to really care until he died.

    That's ridiculous.

Like I said, if you can't understand that I can listen to thriller from the artist michael jackson and also NOT support pedophilia then I got nothing for you.

EYE didn't think that concept was all that complex tbh

I just think it’s unreasonable to not expect random people to look at you sideways when you’re playing a song by someone we all know to be a prolific rapist.

    It's unreasonable? Sure

Doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

    R. Kelly is sick and disgusting. he is where he belongs. i have no problem with someone making deciding not to listen to him. i have a problem with people who act like they deserve a Nobel Prize for making that decision and look down on people who don't make that decision

also people like @insertcoolnamehere who say "well everyone was f***ing teenage groupies back then" about rock stars who escaped repercussions are just making my point for me

in the 60's and 70's, bands would hire off duty cops to lie to parents and keep parents away from hotels when parents came looking for their kids. there were entire groupie magazines. so we have no idea what behaviors that are common today will be seen as disgusting in 30 years. hell, Obama ran against gay marriage in 2008 and didn't change his position until 2012. culture moves fast

  • I see that someone replied to my post, but I can't see what they said...KTT block feature coming thru

If ignition remix comes on I’m not skipping

  • Jun 2, 2021

I think it depends on what they're cancelled for and your prior relationship to their music.

I don't rock with Kanye's recent views such as anti-vaxx, religion not being separate from the government, etc. but I still enjoy all his music the same. If some f***ed up s*** came out about him it wouldn't change the impact his discography has on me, and I'd still listen to his first 7 solos, KSG, WTT, etc.

But with R Kelly I didn't know much about his music except for Ignition, I believe I can fly, some features, etc. so his f***ed up actions just made me not to check out his discog.

Because for the umpteenth time. Those two were the topic of discussion and were actively under investigation around the same time.

and again, why is that? Paul Walker was a movie star. David Bowie was a legend. And according to you, no one knew or cared until they died. and why is it that when white guys did bad things, there was no collective uproar to the extent that a billion dollar company felt the need to create a (poorly thought out, hastily discarded) "hate conduct" policy

you're just thinking very surface level about all of this s***. but it makes sense because your posts show you are a surface level thinker

  • Jun 2, 2021

Dying before you were outed isn’t an excuse

Idk the full story with Bowie but if he was a pedo and didn’t get caught till after he was dead ppl should be calling him out and not listening to his s*** like they do to R. Kelly

That being said if you’re on the other side and choose to listen to all music no matter the artists past I get that too but can’t pick and choose who to get mad at and who not to. In my opinion

  • Jun 2, 2021

    all of them

lol spotify was founded in 2006. in the entire time it had existed, no white artists had been under investigation? no white artists had done anything bad? suddenly, two black dudes are in the news and it's enough to warrant a new policy? lol
