i find deep deep voice really hard to listen sometimes

KA and Trae Tha Truth comes to mind, too deep takes away the accessibility for the average listener.

quite a curious post with sexual undertones

Whats sexual about enjoying some strong and dominant male voices?

There’s an example of every “bad” voice working in music when they come with specific taste, delivery and flows when I think about it

For example Westside Gunn or Bladee, both terrible to me on first listen, but they have their own sauce

It’s about how your voice is adaptable in dif environments
So for example Danny has an amazing voice
It’s very recognizable, unique, and bendable to the songs. He fits damn near anything

Woods has a great voice for his style, someone like jack harlow has a good voice for hits kinda but it’s too bland and it’s hard to get impact out of it

But for the most part right it’s moreso about how you bend and use that voice

This is the problem with someone like Trae the truth as someone said too. It’s not flexible, and it’s not that grabbing or unique. It’s way better to have a jarring voice than one that sounds like it could be anyone

    Good take

A voice isn't bad intrinsically but it's bad if you don't know how to adapt it to the mood/song

Kendricks voice isnt weird at all

Danny has that sort of weird voice naturally, like he has a comedian voice like a silly court jester

    WESLEYS THEORY

    It’s all subjective ultimately

    /thread

Literally its all just preference and what u look for in music

I like delivery to be a bit strange or atleast just different. If its too bland it doesnt move me. Part of why i cant really get with tory lanez and ppl like that. They sound great but they dont interest me vocally

Not to mention Danny switches his voice between high-pitched and deeper, more mature sounding.

Yup. Or say zelooperz, Kendrick Lamar, ODB
They all have abrasive voices but it works so well to their advantage. The most important thing generally in music is being unique

GKMC created the foundation of alien voice, and that seriously turned me off as a fan. I still have plenty of respect for him, but I can see why some people wouldn’t rock with him.
