obviously. But that’s because Drake in 2023 is not the guy who’s made for those beats, considering his writing. But Drake can fit on damn near any beat, and he won’t sound out of place. His song with Benny was great

Atlanta as a city tends to be big on both trap music and heavy rock music, so he embodies it in a unique great way.

He does ATL trap music in a nudy way, but also raps sporadically like JID sounding like a kid, with darker slower textures when needed, and most importantly with like nu metal pop punk rock stuff. It makes this unique portrait of ATL somewhere between people like JID, nudy, and opium. Peep the songs I linked in the other post + this. Mad eclectic and new age

Ofc but that’s cuz it’s a conductor Williams beat, that’s their scene. Even if we wanna say those beats r too dirty for Drake to sound good on, he’s sounded amazing on conductor and dirty beats before. Like 8am in charlotte his voice fit PERFECTLY

It’s like he struggles to sound comfortable these days versus 2011-2015 when he sounded so smooth and effortless
I agree he sounds a bit lethargic on Testing at times but musically that's his best (IMO)

I don't want to turn this into a beef thread but yeah, Drake's voice is a little nerdy so it can be extra hard to take the tough guy s*** seriously
He knows how to use his voice though the majority of the time, which is a huge skill to have if you weren’t blessed with a godsent voice like Nas or Biggie.

That and I feel like the problem with reasons voice is it feels plain and bland, it doesn’t communicate much personality except “I’m tough” and “I wanna sound like I’m trying really hard to rap well”
