Matty Healy of The 1975 recently removed the song “Human Too” from their 2022 album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. The album is seen within the fanbase as one of the best in their discography, but that track was always marked as a low point of the album.

At first, most assumed it was just some error on streaming as we’ve seen happen before, but Matty himself confirmed on the band’s subreddit that it was intentionally removed:

This could spark a whole debate on streaming vs. physical media, but it just got me thinking what single song would you remove from some of your favorite albums if you had the chance to?

It always irked me that When I Needed You was the closer of Emotion by CRJ
But (1) the Deluxe saved this - Favourite Colour is a more rounded closer; and (2) I could always shuffle it

On a similar note, there's at least one skit I'm willing to remove from MM...Food.

The narrative would suffer so much without Real

I get its not the catchiest song but do you guys not listen to music with your emotions involved? The sentiment doesnt move you?

    None for the most part

No better feeling than a song you didnt like forever growing on you randomly

If I had to choose one album Id take away i know what girls like and sunshine off Vol 1 i doubt those will grow on me and the album is 10/10 without them

Most of the time that’s just mere exposure effect though

You shouldn’t force yourself to like a song by giving it a thousand chances lmao

Not everyone is gonna like everything and that’s okay

Tell me where from my post you got “force” or giving a song a thousand chances. Actually tell me

I didn’t say I force myself to do anything and I also didn’t say anything about everybody liking everything?? What are you talking about man

Me: “I like having an open mind because sometimes I change my mind”

Fader: “you force yourself to listen to a song 1000 times until you like it”
