I get it, Kanye nowadays is washed and the biggest pos but this album is timeless. I get you might not like it but but calling it “overplayed” like its dance monkey is insane

I never liked the idea that trying too hard is a bad thing

We’re talking about Hip Hip in the late 2000’s/early 10s

You’re showing your age with this one lol Kanye wasn’t the only one doing this. Pants got skinny after The Cool Kids came out as well as and people in Soho in NYC were doing it in like 2007. Around that same time, Taz Arnold joined Ye’s team who was another one that brought back the vintage hipster style and Kanye embraced it and ran with it after. The worked together on Pastelle and s*** in 08.

Lol, you don't have to tell me that, I know all of that. You have to remember, around that same time Hov was dissing skinny pants and autotune and wore the baggiest jeans. He was arguably just as popular or even more popular then Ye around that time. What Ye was doing during that era wasn't conventional for the time.

trying too hard to be perfect + he's a nazi now so all enjoyment is gone

The Nazi thing really makes it hard to enjoy the old music for me... like it kinda ruins the whole bravado that was sick at the time bc you know the end game is him wearing a KKK suit and swastika necklace

I just laugh when people complain about stupid s*** with this album because it sounds performative af. It's always the same arguments

    "It's TOO perfect"

    "It sounds forced"

    "It's critic bait"

    "the mixing!!"

Stop recycling Kanye's dumbass talking points and think for yourself. Album is incredible, YOU try to do better than MBDTF
