Country has had a resurgence in popularity in recent years, but that’s really only in the United States. Overall worldwide, Hip-Hop will continue to be a bigger presence than Country by a decent margin.

  • i dunno people from all over the world love hip hop, dont think you can say that about country

I think also what happened in the U.S is that a lot of white people in college or around that age that loved hip-hop from 2015-2020, treated it like a phase. They discarded it when it lost its “cool” factor to them and they moved on to other genres like country and to a lesser extent indie rock.

Happens every generation. Just like white girls exclusively dating black guys until their late 20s/30s when they marry a white dude

I dunno Ella Langley been dominating my playlist for the past couple weeks.

  • Music is done. No radio, no buying albums. Just a bunch of phones in a warehouse playing Iceman. Chaotic Good making sure you do the Geese dance on Tik Tok. Who cares.

    Niggas not bumping country lol

No other genre will surpass rap until you have something that all different demographics and archetypes of people can bump in all types of moods

Rap is the only genre that can do that

There is more and more country music coming out that are trying new things versus the state of hip hop that hasnt changed for a while now, Rap needs to do something new or go back to the roots, everything sounds the same these days

  • Honestly how long have we been stuck in the trap era???

Regional country music has exploded in other American countries like Brazil (sertanejo)

  • God I hope not s***s trash

yt pop and country artists are easier to control and more reliable for labels, so the fix is already in.

it was great while it lasted though, hip hop had a nice run as the top genre in the US.
