I agree however I will say country is actually a black genre.
pop and electronic music exists
Jesus Christ hip hop is just spread out more because it's easier to make and the fanbases are fickle. Why the f*** do yall keep thinking in this corny as Billboard mentality anyway? F*** that s***!
I need ya’ll to start listing these artists taking over instead of just making blanket statements based on 3-4 country artists cause comparatively, hiphop has outshone that since 1996
I think also what happened in the U.S is that a lot of white people in college or around that age that loved hip-hop from 2015-2020, treated it like a phase. They discarded it when it lost its “cool” factor to them and they moved on to other genres like country and to a lesser extent indie rock.
said this in the “hiphop market share has decreased” thread but niggas fought heavily against the point lmfao
major labels are pushing pop and country cos it’s easier to market that to middle america than getting people to like 21 savage
There is more and more country music coming out that are trying new things versus the state of hip hop that hasnt changed for a while now, Rap needs to do something new or go back to the roots, everything sounds the same these days
dawg wtf are you talking about? lmfaoooo
did you just miss the entire last 15 years of hiphop going through massive sound changes and superstar/star eras?
how much more do you niggas be wanting the genre to change in every other year until we get to the point that you asking baseless questions like this about a genre that still sounds like Kenny Chesney in 2006?
what cause Morgan Wallen started using 808s???
dawg, be serious for one second
American country been around for a long long time. Unfortunately hip hop is following the trend of rock. All the rock greats are sellouts similar to hip hop. Country wont overtake it hip hop will take a step back
chart wise, it already has and you're blind asf if you don't see that lol
culturally or artistically it never will

Hold up a sec, lets look at it from a labels perspective aka viability (money) the hip hop greats arent really doing anything… everything comes and goes 10 seconds after it is released. I dont know if it is because rap fans have adhd at a higher rate than other genres but country has made money sounding like Kenny for as long as you can remember and still moving the needle…
Rap has went from 5 minute songs to 1 minute 30 seconds - 2 minutes each song…
Don’t shoot the messenger
I’m not a hating, just putting the notice out that rap needs to fix up and get back to a place substance, Turn off the radio, f*** hits, lets make some motherfucking timeless music
Last and probably final time hip hop captured pop culture was the beef. Probably the last time we’ll ever see rap at the top of mainstream
Slowly continuing its rock trajectory. We’re in like the mid to late 00s, in terms of the rock comparison. It’s basically over

bruh you not even sticking to the point of your topic lmaooo
now you using listening habits you can’t prove to boost up a genre that YOU just stated hasn’t changed in 20+ years but yet YOU require hiphop to make changes because “it’s getting stale” like make your f***ing mind up nigga and stop glazing white country artists, it’s sad as f***

what do you niggas be talking about man
just go on tiktok or IG reels or s*** YouTube and you can see hiphop still has a superbly massive grip on the culture with artist names you’ve probably never even heard of lmaooo
no other genre is doing that “outside of the beef” can we just stop this baseless discussion cause non-hiphop fans finally left the genre and went back to letterboxd and pop/alternative
