185 a month isn’t bad at all. At least you’re saving for it
Yea, going in without a hefty down payment is suicide
A 7 year LEASE
Had bad credit and needed a car ASAP. Payments $300 a month so I’m not trippin

$300 a month for 7 years
you are literally dumb as bricks
What's dumb about telling him not to buy this car? What's dumb about telling a 22 year old to have a little bit of fun?
Oh okay
7 years from now that BMW will be worthless
Buy what you can afford or buy a cool car that’s at the bottom of its depreciation curve where you can sell it for nearly what you paid or more
Why r u deflecting it onto literal billionaires lol
They have the access to that wealth because they generate more income than OP who managed to save enough for a down payment lol
Ain't no deflecting. If his advice is more valuable than mines because he out here making money. Then it's reasonable that someone with more money's advice is more valuable than his right?
Grand opening, grand closing.

If you have bad credit what the f*** are you doing leasing a car that’s a $300/mo payment...?
Why does what he said equate to him being a lonely loser with money and nothing else?
It was obvious from his response. What is understood need not be explained
Man if y'all don't get y'all subway riding a&&es outta here with that "Buy a property!" "Invest that money" stuff.
Homie is 22 years old. Let him get a car...not this BS because this is stupid...but let my mans get him a whip so he can hit the clubs when Covid is done.
There is letting OP get a car.
And there's being tied up to that piece of junk for over 7 years.

If you live in an area with a reliable metro then buying an expensive car (or a car at all if you’re in NYC like myself) is stupid as f***. Stop trying to act all high and mighty because people are telling OP not to light their money on fire for a flex
The problem with debt payments like that is that if you can rationalize debt in one area of life you can probably do it in others. Then all of a sudden you have finance payments on cars, credit cards, technology, furniture, loans, etc etc. Having all those payments is going to divert almost all of your income to those bills and you won’t have anything left over to save and build WEALTH. Having a nice looking car isn’t going to make you wealthy.
I had $22k in credit card debt at one point and that was a b****. When I financed my last car (a 2014 Subaru Outback, nothing special but reliable and gets the job done), I financed it for 60 months but I paid it off in 7. I absolutely despise having debt and payments. Granted I have a fat mortgage now but at least that replaces rent and I am building equity in an appreciating asset that will house myself and my family for many years.

dude not tripping over 7 years
holy f***
Threads like this make me appreciate the fact I bought my car cash, and verify that I'm definitely not financing cars

Then what was the point of your post other than to make some claim that everyone in here cannot afford a car

Guy could’ve bought a decent used Honda Civic for $5k and pocketed the remaining $20k to fix his credit
What? Yo did you read the post or did you just skim through it?
You called people telling OP it’s a bad financial decision “subway riders” then proceeded to tell OP to buy a car to “go to the club”
Which is dumb in itself because who drives to clubs
