For what
Hobby. Ive got an 83 280zx, 91 318iS E30, and a 19 WRX Sti.
Still looking for a 90s impreza coupe or sedan.
it depreciates whether you finance it or buy it outright. any new car is gonna depreciate like crazy. buying a 5 year old car can save you the loss from depreciation cause someone else already paid for it
Yeah unless you’re wealthy there’s really no point in buying a brand new car
One of the silliest financial decisions there is
Same with leasing a car or as Dave Ramsey likes to call it a “fleece”

Do you have 3 sets of legs to drive all 3?
I'm perfectly fine with buying a brand new car if I don't ever plan on selling it.
I'm talking about holding that b**** for 10 years minimum. Only time I see a reason to buy a brand new car.
Buying one that's only 3 years old is probably a wiser financial decision though
Guy could’ve bought a decent used Honda Civic for $5k and pocketed the remaining $20k to fix his credit

Tbh just move to NYC and ditch the car payment, maintenance, gas, parking, insurance all together 👍

And pay 1800/month for a cardboard box
You heard “87” and “months” back to back at a dealership and didn’t b-line it to the nearest exit?
OP should only buy this car if he’s one of them niggas getting drafted to the NFL this weekend. And even then, it’d still be a s***ty financial decision.
i was always told to never finance a car, you’d be better just buying the thing all at once
absolutely great advice
You're about to make one of the greater mistakes in your life. Please don't. You'll find a better way, believe me.

You make more when you work in the city doofus
Plus rents are way cheaper rn. Live in Brooklyn queens or jersey city
My car was 60 months to own and I felt like an idiot for agreeing to that (the APR was fair though, like 5%). 87 months is insane. What are y'all doing? Cars depreciate like crazy.

You also spend way more when you live in the city too. You ever wonder why commuting is a thing?
My wife has a step brother who was in and out of jail for a while
One of his first decisions after getting out in 2014 was to buy a car even though I don't think he had steady income yet and his credit was a mess
The monthly payments were like $450
The s*** people do for cars I swear

Personally I wouldn’t make as much $$$ living elsewhere. Even though I have higher expenses, I have a higher disposable income. Allows me to invest 2-3x what I could outside of NYC. Plus the career opportunities are much better.
