What if it’s 1 classic then you never dropping music again. Just 1 classic album then back to normal life, or you can drop only mid for an entire music career.
1st one ez and I’ll be toured in goat lists and rich forever off it I could be happy with that cuz I’d be etched in history books anyway
I love the art no way I’d sacrifice my potential for greatness with mediocre longevity I’d give my life for this s*** why wouldn’t I also give my long term ability to underperform in exchange for changing it forever
a classic is timeless music
id want that s*** to be played for generations
Any answer besides this is weird ^
Be a respected artist at the pinnacle of your field or be fodder for a ktt thread?
This what I’m saying. I don’t think I could survive the reputation hit of dropping a classic then not being able to do it again.
you'd rather have the reputation of never being able to make a classic instead?
Tryna think who’s like the goat of mid as a reference point. People say J Cole but he’s definitely got at least one classic big album under his belt. Who’s truly only ever released mid but survived and entire career.
u have 96 hours to respond with a different artist itt
you'd rather have the reputation of never being able to make a classic instead?
thats like most artists out tbf
Career of mid, there’s no benefit for dropping a classic
What's this an Undercover Jcole Thread???
lauryn hill or j cole basically
Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
is top tier classic
Different genres
Don't Miseducate the kids.
thats like most artists out tbf
yea so why wouldnt you wanna be one of the few that made a classic
yea so why wouldnt you wanna be one of the few that made a classic
If the artist was truly about their craft, you get a classic
But too many "artists" just want the money
They are only in it for the dollars, type of person, therefore
You no longer get art,
You get the best personality that sells.
Ever few years create an exact opposite approach and raise and repeat.
But every few years, real art breaks thru the cracks, and you start to see a real change in the culture
That's what makes it a Classic, A Classic isn't made, but created thru the failures of others.
But too many try to build a Classic off another's person Classic, therefore it's just recycle goods in plastic
yea so why wouldnt you wanna be one of the few that made a classic
i think it really depends on your own priorities
some may just want the money / clout of rapping but not really care about the art (ie. a 21 savage)
some may want to respect the art, show off skill and/or redefine a genre (ie. a nas)
and theres probably 100 more reasons/priorities to do one or the other
Would rather drop the one classic then dip….legendary s***
Pretty solid idea for real
dropping some mid in 2015 and having a song on there pop off 2026
basically would u rather be Lauryn hill or Denzel curry
Crazy stray, Denzel has some great projects
dropping a album that gets met with mid reception but it gains a cult following and status down the line
