Can't vouch for foobar specifically but I still use musicbee. They are really the best music players for flac, mp3, m4a, etc. Itunes can't support FLAC (but ALAC) and Spotify can't support FLAC. Great with lastfm scrobbling on desktop as well
Tagging system on both apps are good and they even feature auto tagging if you connect it with musicbrainz
Nothing wrong with offline music, especially if you can find a way to get it on your phone.
Not to be taken as a diss. I used to use Foobar in like 2010 but I was a 4chan /g/ nerd back then lol
Crazy that people still use it I thought it died out
its mostly little stuff that i prefer. for example on AM you add songs from an album to your library and under the albums section it adds that album when you click into it, it only shows the songs you added
makes sense on paper.
But compared to spotify, you can add just an album to your library without adding any of the songs to your songs library/liked songs. if you do add some songs to your liked songs, and you click into that album it shows the entire album but with a tick next to the songs that you have in your liked songs
so much easier to organize
what makes this system so annoying on AM is when they randomly split the album up or remove songs for whatever reason so you have to delete and re-add it to fix it
it really is
you guys keep assuming UI begins and ends with how the app looks
the library organization is much better on spotify
No way
The industry should've never made that switch.
It killed the power of albums and only placed the importance of singles.
it devalued music for an entire generation
real ones been off streaming i just purchase n send 2 local files lmao but purchasing music is probably considered some lost ancient art nowadays
I get it but spotify doesnt give a f*** about xiu xiu and this hurts the fans more than anybody
good riddance we didnt need to hear all that anyways
also this though too
Good for them but if they real about it they should take their music from apple music and all major streaming services too
They all clearly support terrorism and genocide too
I get it but spotify doesnt give a f*** about xiu xiu and this hurts the fans more than anybody
stop holding fans hostage theyll understand what type time it is
'this hurts the fans' is straight out of spotify pr department damage control playbook
yeap. there's a slsk client for android called seeker, and foobar is on android. foobar is also on ios but downloading music is not nearly as convenient. if you buy s*** on bandcamp though you can add that to your files and whatnot
I didn't know this. Thanks for telling me
'this hurts the fans' is straight out of spotify pr department damage control playbook
i promise you the fans care more about xiu xiu than spotify does. im not saying this is the case with all artists but xiu xiu does not have the base for it chill. you mfs take everything so personally lol

A lost art for people who don’t love music maybe.
Xiu Xiu fans are freaks (complimentary, theyre my fav band) and if theyre even still on spotify they'll follow the band off of it
