N95 is definitely not one of his best “singles” and he coulda just got the real monte for silent hill
N95 ass but silent hill insanely heat, that beat and Kodak verse
Sounds absolutely nothing like DONDA man
You gotta retire this take
You mentioned the synths on the song and that's exactly what makes me think of Donda
Synth from around 3:00

Synth from around 2:05

I must be in the minority where I believe that’s goes absolutely hard. Especially in the gym. I’ve seen people say it sounded “outdated” like a “pandemic” turn up song and I just don’t get it
Definitely way better live

Always been a top 2 Kendrick album for me and have been championing it on here since it dropped
I guess being a new father at the same time the album dropped really made the album themes of family comes first and overcoming familial and generational trauma really stand out
Well that’s the thing isn’t it? Some may have the mega smashes some may lead in numbers but Kendrick has consistently been THE guy in rapping itself fr since TPAB. He’s the Hov in the early 2000s in the midst of your Em, Nelly, Luda etc
Also, idk if any of yall went to the Morale
Tour, but to this day it’s the greatest show I’ve ever seen any genre. A MASTERPIECE of a stage show.
yup, will take alot to top it
I must say the night it dropped was pretty crazy bc the The Smile album dropped too— I was not expecting the Kendrick album to be serious and somber with the Thom Yorke album being the fun and light hearted one
Mother I Sober … what a track man
Definitely don’t think it was a classic upon release, but this is one of those albums that has earned its’ classic argument as time has progressed
Beat sounds like a Donda leftover to me
Hmm okay I can kinda see that, imagine he wrote that s*** for Kanye lol
album was so bad drake felt comfortable starting a rap battle with him LMFAO
Heart Part 6 showed that Drake barely listened to the album if he did it all
I don’t really know what that means honestly
Only time that term made sense to me is when niggas called Lil Baby’s s*** “pandemic rap” and to me that’s just generic trap beats with triplet flows
Right, see that’s what I thought niggas meant but I’m like we know Dot can rap.
Album feels like it came just a bit too late in certain regards. Cancel culture and covid bars already felt outdated in 2022
I don’t really agree wit this take either because I don’t think we weee that far removed from Cancel culture and Covid in 2022z but maybe my reality is different. For me it felt like right on time considering we haven’t heard from him in years and rumors are that he was supposed to drop 2020
it hit me like a pandemic bar but time passed away from it, s*** is absolutely heat
Bruh when I hear that “BITCH!” During a heavy set while off 300MG of caffeine I feel like a f***in madman
Oh ya it is
I might be a clown but ur the whole circus bro. Piss off
I might be a clown but ur the whole circus bro. Piss off
I’m gonna shove my fist so far up your ass
Out of all his albums, it’s the one I revisit the least
Don’t enjoy it as much as I did when it first dropped. The sonic palette was kinda boring to me. Some good production on here but the beats didn’t really stand out me, outside of United In Grief. Rich Spirit is a nice addition to his catalog too. Think it’s a precursor to the energy of GNX
I will say, the structure stands out to me more than it did on the release date. It’s quite unique imo especially if we’re comparing it to big time mainstream albums. Was pleased with how it was put together. I love that he’s able to connect all the subject matter he explores through an overarching theme. I always appreciate the effort.
It’s an ambitious project. Still think it’ll be looked at as a highlight from this decade. Don’t think any rapper that would’ve attempted something similar would be as successful
This album is hilarious its like a broadway play as a rap album
Ion got the intelligence to enjoy this s*** ngl
