Yeah I’d throw in daily chiefers, soundfynd and offrecordsounds too. Some good discourse on there for sure and we definitely skew older on here. But with that being said something about social media discourse is always a bit less genuine to me because people are tryna get that like notification dopamine, that might be true on ktt2 too but since it’s a smaller more tight-knit community it’s a bit less showy in that sense

It ain’t about the numbers it’s about the potential for quality discourse. Doesn’t mean there won’t be dumbass threads every day. Just means the untapped nature of the forum and the fact that it doesn’t make a lot of financial sense to astroturf narratives on here keeps it pure

This is probably true from a cultural influence sense. There was a time where this would be the number one spot for breaking news aggregated in one location, but I still think we hold a unique position for discourse that reddit doesn’t have

it’s in a weird spot cause it seems like influencers know about this site but gatekeep it for whatever reason so they can get info first or some s***
Like when akademiks leaked that he had a KTT2 tab open in his browser for a split second a couple years ago

ktt1 was a cultural monolith but it still has motion and isn't hiveminded. like other online communities will swear an artist isn't underground anymore if they have 100k listeners on spotify and will just drop them or if some artists drop something new they'll say it's the greatest thing ever
