I remember being young and finding my own love in hip hop beyond just hearing what was played around me. Going back through ye’s discography. This was imo his best album for years.
Definitely one of my favorites from him.
I actually got exposed to this album before getting into CD. I heard the singles on CD but Late Registration was when I was getting into him more as an artist.
Diamonds From Sierra Leone was my favorite song on here for a while. But now it's We Major and Gone.
People sometimes say this is "CD 2.0" but I disagree. CD was a lot more chipmunk soul based, light hearted/comedic, and had a stronger storyline to it.
LR involves more live orchestras, live keys(shout out to Brion), and has a deeper and more somber feel overall outside of Gold Digger and Touch The Sky. The Chamber Pop and Fiona Apple influence is much more pronounced on LR.
His rapping and lyricism was slightly better than CD too.
Late Orchestration elevated this album too.
Classic Album. It has one of my favorite verses of all time
I heard the beat and I ain't know what to write
as life goes on we need to acknowledge this is his best album
honestly, yes. i need to let go of the fact that yeezus was the first i heard of him. yes, its good. tlop is good. 808s is good
but this is the one
One of the greatest albums of all time really. This was the album that made me of a fan of his, specifically after hearing Diamonds OG. I wasn’t big on CD like that until I went back and heard it after enjoying this. I remember Katrina happened and he became a household name after that. Big year for Ye in general. Hands down my favorite album of his as well.
I miss Kanye West so much man
West End Mall in atlanta, after school dad went in and got the CD and we drove home listening to what would go down as the best ye album of all time.

@aLIEN he's trashed Gold Digger for years even before his brain self destructed via rick rubin inspired alt-right copes.
I feel like Skits worked on TCD due to the more comedic tone of it, this didn't need Skits.
real
listening to this album actually makes me sad like damn he used to make the greatest music ever
