Buddy I don't know if you know anything about New York City, but it is a city with one of the largest populations of Jewish residents in the country. An unfortunate reality is that there are many of them who are Zionists.

If he does win the mayoral election, it probably won't benefit him well to alienate a significant population of the city, especially when it's members of that population who would be important in getting things passed as well as funding for things that would benefit working class New Yorkers. A base that Zohran has frequently put at the forefront of his campaign since he started.

We might not like Zionists, but the reality is many of those motherfuckers are deeply entrenched within the political, industrial, and commercial infrastructure of many American cities at high executive levels.

Sure, we all want politicians to be staunchly anti-Israel. Realistically, it isn't feasible if you want long term success in doing anything for your city, state, etc. Maybe years down the line we will be able to have politicians who are staunchly against Israel and that won't lead to them being "unelectable". But if you've paid any attention at all, especially the past few years...that time ain't today. But you make a start at it when you elect someone like Zohran who has had enough balls to stand on his promise to arrest Netanyahu if he comes to NYC and he's the mayor, and has had enough balls to continue calling what Israel is doing and has been doing a genocide since October 7th. Something many politicians, Democrats and Republicans, still fail to do.

He already has the election locked up tho, there’s literally zero reason for him to be saying this type of s*** other than to signal to elites he’s not going to make too much trouble

So you not a New Yorker is what you saying?

yes and I said I would vote for him if I was but not because I like him lol He's clearly the best candidate atm and I hope he's able to make some positive changes but yeah keep dodging the points I've made.

who cares about Zohran co-signing the overthrowing of real socialist movements. It's fine, as long as he gets his win and we get a little sprinkle of socialism in the US.

Zohran would've called for the overthrowing of Salvodore Allende himself and you would've jumped for joy back then too. He does have an influence in the way people will view these countries and how they'll react to the war on Latin America.

Right now the conversation about every Latin American country fighting to keep it's sovereignty is negative. Even from allot of people who claim to be leftists and post about Palenstine nonstop. You have people who will genuinely believe those CIA lies because it's coming from someone who they support.

What's even funnier is that he could've just fell back and just throw shade at the US while addressing the question. For example, the president Mexico's response to the accusations was perfect. She didn't even bother making a real comment about it. She just threw shade at the US because she knows who the real enemy is. I think that's something any politician can do lol that's the bare minimum and Zohran did the exact opposite.

Or it's just because I actually happen to live in the city that is holding this election and have to worry about morons like you, who are so caught up in theory that you lose touch of reality and the actual needs of people who live in the f***in city, working to dissuade people from supporting him cause he's not tryna tank any chance of losing this election by bringing out the loud "DEATH TO ISRAEL" s*** to a s***offender who is Netanyahu's lawyer, friends with Trump, and has tech billionaires in his back pocket ready to sell out this city.

theres no point arguing with selfish Imperialists. at the end of the day, all they care about is having a marginally better standard of living, even if that means supporting Liberal Zionists and including them in their coalition. if all you care about is having a cheaper subway, just say that, i get it tbh. but that objectively makes you scum and not a good person, you don't get to pretend otherwise. literally the embodiment of this meme

However, a lot of idiots live in this city and think he's alright just becuase they haven't been directly affected. Local politics is just as much of an uphill battle as the state or national level

when did I say I didn't support him? you never bother to read my posts. Don't lump me in with leftists praying on his downfall for the sake of being proven right. You just don't know or care enough about the issues I'm bringing up and you should just say that.

I never brought up theory or him not being leftist enough. I never expected him to be anything but a soc dem, I supported anyways and still do. Is pressuring him to not spread CIA lies unprovoked too much to ask? I understand reeling back a bit for strategic purposes but that's not what he's doing here. I gave you an example of how he could've showed support for Cuba and Venezuela without alienating right wing Latinos. He could've just said nothing at all while condemning US' actions against them.

If we're not addressing the red flags now then they'll never be addressed.
