I can’t speak for the country you live in, but in country I live in, the left and more precisely the extreme left made it impossible to talk about the problems that was happening with immigration, and with the extreme parts of Islam that don’t flow in a secular country.

And because no one talked about the issues the far right picked it up and ran with it, and now people are dancing to the right wing pipe because the left did not address the issues

When cancel culture were at its highest, and people got socially scared to have open conversations.

I don’t think being socially scared is as frightening as now where people are not afraid of being social outcast, but are actually scared of political sanctions because of having an opinion, but I still don’t wanna go back to that
